It's not like the information on hrt is hidden away somewhere. Anyone can look up the chemicals and decide for themselves what they want. Generally doctors will either just go along with whatever you are edging toward or they'll straight up gatekeep you. Transitioning is barely even a medical thing, it's more political. That's why you can get 100 different diagnosis from 100 different doctor's. You could find a doctor to cater to whatever result you want in your mind. At the end of the day if you want hrt you'll get it, and if you want a doctor to tell you not to go on hrt you can also get that.

If people let their doctors decide if they could transition then probably there would be like 1/1000th the number of trans there are now.
If people want to transition they'll just seek it out until a doctor agrees. There's no point blockading it from people, just let people do it if they want to. Therapy is pretty pseudosciency and you're not going to get the answer to all lifes problems. If your doctor is nice they'll just go along with whatever you tell them. If they don't like you they'll gatekeep you. There's no major valid science approach to it because psychology is not a science.
