I am white and trans. When I choose a new name for myself I based it of an anime character. I now know that it's wrong of me to have a Japanese name, but I didn't know that when I chose it. I've heard people telling me that I need to change name, but I've never heard anyone try to force cis people to change their name if their parents named them something that's CA. What are your thoughts on this? Should I really change my name?? (My name is a Japanese nickname, not really a real name).

Senpai imagine if the hottest white girl at your school was named Asuka it would be weird. I mean if you like the name keep it but having a Japanese name will make people look at you funny and if you are passable it might make them take a really good look at you until they realize you're a tranny.

Erica is a pretty common name in Sweden, dunno about other countries.

Erica is a really common name. Hell, it's not even japanese; that would be Erika. And even then, it's also scandinavian. Erica is the anglo version, so you're 100% safe.
