What I don't get is why phrenology is suddenly back in style. Brain imaging can't be used to generate causal theories because brain regions are pluripotent, such that "activity A lights up brain region X" and "activity B lights up brain region X" doesn't actually say much about A and B, and likewise if X is a structural feature rather than an activation. But I guess neuroscientists really need to write papers, and they have data so they must be real because data don't lie.
