Idk, I've actually been thinking about this a lot lately. I'm bi, exclusively gay at this point. I've been wondering how much my failures with women at an early age influenced me. Most of the crushes I developed in school were on girls, and all of them rejected me. Meanwhile I had girls have crushes on me, but I didn't on them and rejected them. I'm age 25 now and didn't have sex til earlier this year (with a guy). I'd almost exclusively watched trap and gay porn for awhile before that.

Then again my second crush was on another boy in the 4th grade, and at that age you're not even sexualized unless abused (I wasn't). So that puts some basis on the biological aspect maybe.

No, because all fetishes of mine, which are independent of each other, all involve men and never women. It would make sense, logically, that if I had a fetish for guys that it would stand alone only in this case instead of always being the default for the other person involved in fetish fantasies. Now I think that it is certainly possible to have a fetish for a gender (especially for bisexual people) but gender preference doesn't inherently equal a fetish. As an add-on, I'm pretty sure the mindset that gender preference is just a fetish is the root of most homophobic perspectives, in the eyes of most homophobes they likely subconsciously don't understand why we should give lgbt people legal accommodation, after all, we don't give people with foot fetishes some kind of legal status.
