Maybe you just mean you haven't lost too much time overall, like at least you waited 4 years to start at 20 instead of waiting 4 years to start 30, but the only way you can count losing 4 years as little time is if you ended up starting at 14 or under. You're pretty much guaranteed at least some hip growth at 16, but there's a chance you won't at 20.
