So I finally ordered the pills online. I'm 22 which is kind of late I know but I don't want to be boymode forever. How and what do I need to do to actually transition fully and not just take hormones? I can always get ffs later if I don't pass but I mean where would I go to learn make up? What other stuff would help me? I don't plan on fully presenting female until I look at least somewhat feminine.

Practice you voice, it's so important and many people neglect practicing it.

Regular everyday makeup is pretty self-explanatory. Sometimes if you buy a kit or something you may even get a little guide pamphlet. You can check online instructions, but basically:
>just comb your upper eyelashes with maskara, upside, downside or both, your choice, advice against doing lower lashes as it will smear very easily
>get a foundation that matches your skin color, use it to smear over any major blemishes, but don't overdo it, finish with rouge or powder which is just fluffing with a sponge
>eyeliner behind lashes is icky and not really noticeable, you don't need to do this, around eyes requires a lot of practice because it's very easy to fuck up, don't start with this
>for eyeshadow, basic approach is two layers with a light almost skin colored covering like an oval from eyelid to below brows and then an actual color covering just the eyelid, try smoothing the edges, if you want to get even more fancy you can do a dark layer fitting the prominent color at the lashtip of the eyelid, but this isn't necessary
>lipstick may look nice, and if you want to use it, go right ahead (just pout your lips and be steady), but it's very eyecatching and is definitely the one makeup that might clock you
>painting nails may be tricky, steady hand is good, but also right dosage of paint on brush, always start by painting your dominant hand as it's harder and will feel easier without also having wet paint on it, don't worry about accidentally getting paint on your skin, wait until the polish has fully dried, dip hands in hot water a couple minutes and then rub the spill paint off
For basic choice of what color of every article will be good for you, learn color theory. Actually, just being a drawfag will give you an edge at this, it's pretty similar.

Thank you so much for the tips.

So whats up with all of our generation coming out right about now? Im 23, and see that most of the new transitioners are all around my age. I wen't through a bumpy life and only found out about trans through 4chan, i assume your story is similar?
>>
>>8161908
I had these feelings like my whole life but I didn't know that being trans was a thing until I was like 17. I had trouble really accepting it at first. Then I tried to convince myself I was too old when I was like 20 and now I'm here.
>>
>>8161908

One interpretation is that it's not possible to keep yourself repressed with the current mainstream awareness of trans people.

Another interpretation is that most people on 4chan are young, so within a short amount of time being exposed to an actually informative source like /lgbt/, the trannies on the site tend to transition around the same age.

I started self-medding at 20, but would have done it at 19 if I had never bought the "self-medding is dangerous" meme and thought the hormone sites were sketchy.
>>
>>8161927
>would have done it at 19 if I had never bought the "self-medding is dangerous" meme
I know this feel I would've started like 3 years sooner if I didn't buy into that.
>>
>>8161908
My guess is most people feel transitioning is a very huge decision to take, and also don't know very much about it as you basically have to research the subject yourself to even know the basics. Many probably assume early on that they can probably relieve dysphoria through crossdressing and living an otherwise normal life, but over the years it's apparent this will not work. By your early 20s you've earned your independence and is not bound to your family like before, so this is also a time where you may realize transitioning is the right choice without feeling held back by unaccepting parents.
I know I held off on transitioning because I literally had never heard of HRT and only seen ultrahons in TV documentaries and such, so I had always assumed you just did a bunch of plastic surgeries and decided that was good enough, because that's what trannies looked like in the media.
>>
>>8161927
To be fair these sites do appear to be sketchy and now I'm 22 transitioning into hondom
>>
>>8161971
i just started self medding also. Just from some randome website. I decided ide rather die than go on, so im going through with it. Worst case, the pills are fucked and i die. The hard part is to quit smoking.
>>
>>8161944
>>8161971

I actually found out about self-medding in high school, but for some reason it didn't register in my mind. I think I managed to repress so much I wasn't even conscious of my desire to be a girl at that point. Like I watched this video by a girl called Natalie Sweetwine (she's an escort now, which is probably why I can't find her channel) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NVdpsGMCm4 But maybe it was because I watched these videos by this girl https://www.youtube.com/user/violet4151/videos. You can see she's pretty much /lgbt/'s definition of twinkhon. So maybe I thought hormones just didn't do much. But then I also knew about Kim Petras back when I was 13 and she looked like a totally normal girl to me, so I don't know. By the end of high school I did start wanting to transition again, but I'm not sure why it didn't happen earlier.

>>8161971
>>8162019

Yeah, they seem sketchy. But I think I was more concerned over identity theft than not getting real drugs. I figured the danger from self-medding was from not knowing what you were doing.
>>
>>8162070
I hope I turn out as decent looking as that violet girl you posted.
>>
>>8161971
22 isn't doomed to hondom.
>>
>>8162070

That said, if I had known about self-medding back when I learned about Kim Petras, maybe I would have done something. I remember I got really mad at my father after I read about her, I almost told him off for being a closed-minded idiot dooming me to suffering. Then I remembered the "Honor your mother and father" commandment so I didn't say anything and kept my anger bottled up. I am bitter to this day.

>>8162080

Really? Do you look like Chad?
>>
>>8162098
Yeah it's probably not but being 24 like me is :^)
>>
>>8162109
I don't know I don't look like really masc but I don't look fem either. When I was a few years younger I looked andro now I'm more on the masc side but definitely not Chad. I don't know maybe I just have low expectations for myself and would be happy if I looked even remotely female.
>>
>>8162111
That really is pushing . I usually considered up to mid-20s the latest it would be reasonable to try.
>>
>>8162127
Just turned 24 though so ehh I just pray for the best maybe I can get ffs if it doesn't work out

For clothes, find go by your style or find one that fits you well. Just browsing a womens clothing store and picking out the stuff you like is a good step as you'll only get hip and cool stuff. Again, color theory is great for matching clothes, but if you find it hard, basically pick out outfits of just one color, or match a really colorful or patterned article with plain whites or blacks. Use modesty, the skin revealing stuff looks great, but probably not on you, hopefully some day in the future, but covering yourself is better for now. Loose clothes will be better than tight ones. Don't be too adventurous, plain clothes are better for everyday use than really elaborate ones. Know your limits, as a trans person, not everything will fit, but don't allow this to distress you. I have a hard time finding jackets and shoes that fit me, as my feet are too big and arms are too thick, but there are ones out there that fit me. Just gotta search for them.

Hairstyle is whatever you want, really. Grow it out and visit a hairdresser, if you have an unflattering hairline you might want something that covers more of the face. Short haircuts or pulling back your hair is basically the only thing to look out for as these are the ones that will make you look the most like a boy.

Picking up mannerisms and walking may feel a bit like acting at first, you've got to really observe how women move and try to compare it to male movement. There's a lot of little stuff you never think about, that's totally there. You really need to look this up, but like how we press buttons, hold things or check our nails, there's so much stuff. General rule is to try being more formal and proper, slouching and hanging is very unfeminine, so sit upright and walk face forward.
For walking, one foot in front of the other, get a little butt wiggle in there, and a little bounciness. I learned by imitating women who happened to walk in front of me in town. (Don't actually stalk anyone.)

Also forgot about mannerisms, do something with your arms, just slightly wiggle them in sync with your feet as you walk, hold something, check your phone. Hanging arms go with the slouchy look, hands in pockets will emphasize your arms too much. When sitting, try resting them neatly in your lap or, again, do something with them.

Sorry, I forgot what this thread was about.

I have no advice since I'm one of those boymode twinkhons who's not any closer to girlmode than I was at the start of hormones after 20 months. Analyzing my failures, I would say not having a job so I can get my beard removed, build a female wardrobe, etc. and my brother moving his girlfriend in so that I never have private time to practice my voice were my biggest impediments.

You don't consciously do anything unless you are pretending. Besides taking the pills you don't need a certain type of surgery or makeup style to be a girl. Just do normal shit that feels right like shaving your legs and not having shitty posture
>>
>>8165504
We have gendered behaviors subconsciously indoctrinated in us from childhood, a lot of things are subconscious things you don't realize will clock you.
And that's basically key here, you don't want to look like a girl but behave and act like a guy, you'll look like a hon despite the looks.
>>
>>8165529
People have always told me I act feminine whatever that means but I always saw myself as a girl so it was natural. I guess we were raised differently. My sister does lots of things you would probably consider 'acting like a guy' but that's not what being a hon is.
>>
>>8165529
>We have gendered behaviors subconsciously indoctrinated in us from childhood,
Examples pls? can you make a thread about examples of these that mtfs and ftms have noticed?
>>
>>8165556
I instinctively acted very feminine but kinda repressed it because people would make fun of me for it.
>>
>>8165575
Are you into guys exclusively?
>>
>>8165577
No, I actually don't like guys at all.
>>
>>8165597
Neat, what are your feminine traits and interests, from childhood to transition?
