I used to be left leaning since I was politically conscious. But being trans, I was demonized for having toxic masculinity and told constantly that me and nonbinary people are on the same level and are fighting for the same thing. I think that me fighting for the right to cure my life crippling dysphoria is not the same as someone fighting to be called "they/them". Not to mention, like other right leaning trans people I know, I do not want to live my life identifying as trans. Of course, I know I'm not a cis man, but I want to be seen as one by others and myself. So I'm do not like the left trying to constantly telling me that I'm an oppressed trans person who is demonized by society, when I only feel demonized by them. People around me don't care that I'm trans unless that are a cis left wing person. They are the ones that look down on me with pity. I do not want any part in this identity politics bullshit and I definitely don't want pity.

And again, just because I view trans rights in a left wing way doesn't mean I'm left wing. I have plenty of other views that are right wing. Am I supposed to change all my other beliefs because I am trans and believe in trans rights?
