even if gender roles were completely 100% abolished that would not get rid of sexual dimorphism and if someone wanted a different appearance sufficiently, it would still make sense for them to transition

How many people would want to transition purely for cosmetic reasons? I csn only think of fetishists and it wouldn't really improve their life. You can be a feminine looking and acting man without going full trans.
