An electrologist suggested I undergo laser hair removal before electrolysis. Most of my hair is dark. I have pale skin. Due to my Irish and Scandanavian heritage, however, there's a fair amount of red and blonde hair mixed in there.

Her suggestion contradicts what the information online which states that lasered hair is more difficult to remove with electrolysis. Another electrologist said it would cost more in the long run.

What does /lgbt/ think?

I'm interested as well as I was thinking about getting electrolysis

Makes sense.
Laser is going to destroy your dark hair.
Electrolysis is slower and more expensive than laser.

If you have more dark hair than light hair, I said is reasonable.

She took a look at my face and said there's a mixture of dark, red and blonde. My dark hair turns red/blonde in the summer.

What she said makes sense, but I'm concerned the laser treatment will increase my need for electrolysis later on.

Any other thoughts?

I'm here for a third, fourth and possibly fifth opinion.

Fugg, I'm getting laser before electro because I still have light hairs :\
>>

she is right
you should remove the bulk of the dark hair first so only the lighter/red hair remains

protip: we aren't doctors and we can't see your hairy body

Electrologists aren't doctors. Some states don't require them to be licensed.

Transexuals who have had laser hair removal and electrolysis, though, will know what to expect and what is accurate. Most of the information available to the public was written by electrologists or beauty industry professionals, the types that have an economic interest in the subject. An ax to grind, if you will.

Here's a pro-tip: Remove your fingers from the keyboard before typing when you don't know anything about the subject.

Laser only reduces dark hairs.

>>8031346
Have you had laser and electrolysis?
