I have, yeah. Seeing gay characters interests me but they're rarely ever done well.

On the contrary, I almost never watch such movies because the characters are either forced, weak or have their whole persona centered around homosexuality. It almost never comes out neatly.

I did this for Please Like Me, the Geoffrey stuff was so good and then it turns to 3 1/2 seasons of total train wreck and now it's never coming back.

I watched Steins;Gate because I heard it had a trans character. It was disappointing how they spun it into a "dude is so gay he wants to be a woman to be with his crush" kind of deal. By all observations, she had very strong gender dysphoria.

with shows, possibly never. tokens are highly popular these days but few are integrated with the story or cast in a genuine way. shows with lgbt side characters usually lose interest in them after a season or two

but movies, books, comics, games, all the damn time. with comics and games especially i usually enjoy the gay more than the disappointing story i endured for it

Variations. I try to find stuff that's more realistic in its portrayal. Bokura no Hentai had a trans character and I ended up liking how that was done more than HM. There's some others but usually smaller works nothing major.

I watched skam because i found these 2 kissing on yt. I must say that this is the only gay romance i liked. The show is pretty good if you like teen stuff.

If a show uses LGBT characters to pander to lefties, I stay the fuck away. If there's an LGBT character, great! But if they try and use homosexuality as merely an advertising point, it can fuck off.

Only once, I watched Spartacus because I saw pics of two Roman gladiators kissing and was like 'all right, I gotta see what this is about'. Don't regret it, it's basically Game of Thrones with a significantly higher death count and a lot of queer and POC characters.

SKAM is also worth watching (the third season has a major character coming to terms with being gay), but I picked that one up because it looked funny.

I passionately hate "teen shows", so I'll defend SKAM there-- it's good if you want a show about teenagers as they actually are rather than the MTV stereotype, all the characters are awkward, pimple-covered idiots (played by actual teenagers) who text each other Kanye West gifs and stupid jokes about cat prostitutes as opposed to some weird clique systems of preps and goths where every actor is well over twenty.
