transvestite = takes pleasure dressing as a girl, whether that's sexual or not
transgender = all transsexuals are transgender, but not all transgender people are transsexuals
shemale = a term made up by porn producers, usually brazilians who go off their meds so they can splooge all over the male actor
trap = an intact, normal (lol) boy who can pass as a girl, and generally enjoys the attention

transsexual: somebody that identifies as the opposite gender and wants to change their physical characteristics to match the opposite sex

transvestite: crossdresser

shemale: slang referring to mtfs, widely used in the porn industry

trap: a boy that passes for a girl, though sometimes it's also used as slang for an mtf
