The issue with gold star lesbians and the lesbian circle is that many straight women pretend to be LGBT to get attention. This is why non-binary is so popular among white middle class college aged cishet women, because it is a way that they can claim oppression which is something the lesbian community, as part of the feminist community, has deemed very important.

Gay men do not play the same victims games. People legitimately hate gay men and claiming to be gay puts you in actual danger.
