Hey all, I'm a bit of an old school homo. Was an older teen and very promiscuous young man in the 80s, making it a miracle I didn't catch the bug).

I was just over on /b/ (as you do) and there was, as usual, a porn thread. This one specifically dedicated to boy butts (assuming 18+ but for reasons I'll explain below the age alarm bells went off at first)

Never in my life, until today, have I seen, outside of some women, a smooth ass. Either boys are taking shaving way too seriously (I can't imagine the fucking irritation) or that hormones-in-the-water shit isn't as fake as I thought.

It doesn't make a lick of sense to me. I remember my friends and I sprouting like damn gardens at 14/15. I had a full chest, as did most of my friends, by the time we were ~20. A guy in the thread said that it was his experience that teens today aren't growing hair, for whatever reason. Another chimed in that he hadn't grown much at all, another said the same thing.

Tbh, most of you will undoubtedly be younger than me and have way more experience with contemporary younger guys. I never saw an ass that looked smooth, and I've been doing gay shit since I was 17 in the 80s.

I don't exactly know what the sitrep is on teens today, seeing as I'm not exactly in that market (and am happily married) but is this a common thing to see now?
>>
You gotta shave that shit if you want straight dick.
>>
I think it's our diets or somethings in the water unironically kek.
Some shave of course, but many who don't still have soft, smooth asses
>>
>>7717098
It was common, of course, to trim the hair on your package, but I can barely understand how people don't die from discomfort from shaving their cock, nevermind their balls or their fucking butt.

If it does have to do with exposure to some sort of external factor the long-term effects would be interesting. I have noticed over the past ~30 years that teens have looked progressively younger. I did ref. work at a local high school back from '12-'15 and definitely noticed that guys on the varsity teams, so generally 16-18, were much younger in appearance than my generation was. Not sure if there's a connection.
>>
>>7717036
i'm probably a couple years younger than you OP and man-asses are rough. Even if not hairy, something about guy skin makes it tougher and coarser.
Hair removal has been a thing since the 60s with the bodybuilding craze becoming a norm.
I didn't have to shave every day until i was 24, but then in the 90s i started meeting men who would brag that they didn't need to shave, as if hairlessness meant youth or some superiority.
I think you're encountering a culture that prizes smooth skin, youth as beauty, and a lot of bullshitters.
>>
>>7717036
Everyone prefers smooth bottoms.
>>
>>7717181
Currently on the cusp of turning 48, so it's been a wild ride around the sun. It wouldn't surprise me if there was some bullshit involved, but I can only speak from my experience (and we're talking the DC and NY gay spots, the former I grew up in and the latter I lived in from 88-95).

I certainly understand the youth/hairless connection. It seems mostly innate, which is why it took me a moment to realize I wasn't looking at a thread which would get the law breaking down my door (if you catch my drift).

I don't necessarily have an especial attraction to it, but I'm curious why it's taken off with younger gay culture - especially when it didn't seem to even exist in culture when I was really active.
>>
>>7717211
I've had my cock in a lot of ass over the years - can't say if I would or wouldn't, because I never saw such a thing from late teenage flings, 20-something hookups in bathhouses and bars, serious relationships in my 30s, and not even in my now-husband (who I've been monogamous with since 2005).

I can't say I wouldn't prefer it, but it's just extremely new.
>>
>>7717130
>but I can barely understand how people don't die from discomfort from shaving their cock, nevermind their balls or their fucking butt.

I'm a pretty hairy guy and honestly, cock shaving has never been a problem. No irritation at all nor discomfort when it's growing back.

Ass is another story. I've tried Nair, careful shaving with a good razor after trimming, and I always get irritation. I keep my chest and stomach shaves as well, and trim my legs with clippers - I like to leave some masculinity, as I'm straight acting and chase after the subby boys.

But if anyone can help me get my ass smooth without irritation, that would be fantastic.
>>
>>7717215
>we're talking the DC and NY gay spots, the former I grew up in and the latter I lived in from 88-95

Jesus Christ, you are lucky to not be a statistic. You're like a unicorn surviving that shit unscathed.

>>7717367
I was always looked at oddly for using condoms regularly, but I had an aunt who was infertile due to some sort of VD. Being an open family, it was always kind of disclosed to us (my sister and I) during our teen years that we needed to protect ourselves (my mother worked for Planned Parenthood)
>>
>>7717036
It's largely ethnic.

I'm a full slav and have no chest hair really, but decent musculature.

>>

It's probably a selection problem - hairy straight guys aren't posting in boy butt threads
>>
Even when I was in elementary, middle, and high school I noticed the generations above ours seemingly looking more mature than us (and thinking to myself once we were their age that we still seemed less developed than them) as well as the generations below us seeming more adolescent than ours was at their age.
Could it also just be something with human nature?

Tbh it's probably due to ddt pesticides and experimental drugs in the 60s, which made boomers give birth to "manlier" boys. Fluoride in the water now counteracts that and produces numale twinks

way hairier than my dad and mom's dad

Oh my god I'm relevant!

18anon reporting. Funny enough, still in HS.

I can confirm that you're pretty much correct. I hit puberty around 11, woke up to seemingly overnight strands of underarm hair and a cracking voice. The next year I shot up in height, filled out my underarms a bit, and my arm hair got darker. I also got dat pimple face and a small Adams apple, and my balls grew.

But that was about it. After I hit my max height (5'11") I just stopped. Never grew pubes, leg hair, chest hair, or anything else (I just kept the wispy little hairs from childhood, according to Google they're vellus hair). Egg my facial hair is pathetic, and I've got to shave about once a month.

Being twink status I actually do shave my underarms, but that's all I have to worry about.

This has been the norm for most of the guys I know. I can't exactly speak for their pubes (well... In most cases) but having shared a locker room for many years the same pattern got followed - puberty that starts and ends early, and seems to forget the hair. It's common enough that the one guy in our class who *is* hairy is nicknamed Bigfoot - and only because he has thick out hair, chest hair, and leg hair. Doesn't even grow a beard, to my knowledge.

We're *17-18* years old. Thin if any leg hair, a number of guys I know without underarm hair (whether shaved or never grew I'm not sure) and I can personally vouch that the two boys I've gotten some with didn't have much if any pubes to speak of - just that thin, wispy hair.

I don't know is if there's a correlation with guys turning out gay, but I know for a fact that when my much older brother graduated from this same school (2006) there was one token gay kid in his class. There's about a dozen in mine, and plenty more who just seem blatantly closeted.

Make of it what you will.
>>

>>
>>7717036
America isn't white anymore is what happened
>>
I never grew much hair until my early 20s and I still have patchy facial hair. I have like maybe 10 chest hairs lol

I usually try and wax or epilate my butt though. Ass hair is just disgusting. I don't really like body hair at all but I guess people expect guys to at least have some arm and leg hair
>>
>>7718204
The majority of these sissy boys are white as fuck, though.

My daughter is obsessed with this singer named Jacob Sartoris who is like 14, 15 and looks like a girl. And he's basically a microcosm of what most teenage boys look like in the past few years.
>>
>>7718231
Admittedly, though, it could be entirely unrelated. Bieber looked femboy status for awhile and then turned into a pretty masculine man
>>
>>7717617
I WILL FUCKING MURDER YOUR FAMILY AND SALT YOUR LANDS GERMAN
>>
>>7717036
Im 36 and i honestly dont know what youre talking about? Hormones in the water will not be at a fraction of the level necessary to show smooth skin. In the past the society was more stigmatized and most people were utilitarians because the leisure necessary to be a femboy didnt quite exist yet.

People seem the same to me other than 1 basic factor. And that is post-utilized knowledge. An athlete can look like a linebacker or professional boxer at 20 now because they know what their doing. Similarly its alot easier to look like a twink. Youde be surprised at how much the phisiology of that lifestyle will change your looks and biology. Its mostly illusion though. People didnt use to shave their bodies. As someone who has been sensitive to the past gay life and the now gay life and in between, people have always been the same except for environmental factors.

I think early puberty also accounts for why women born after 1990 have bigger boobs than the ones born before that.
>>
>>7717036
I'm in my early 20's and as baffled as you are by how apparently hairless and smooth their butts are.
At 17 I apparently became far more hirsute than average for my age.
The hair on my cheeks isn't visible (the buttcrack hair is).
I've shaved plenty, but the stubble is a pain when it comes back.
Despite not being able to see the hair itself on the cheeks, I have a degree of KP which inflames the follicles and makes the skin on my butt look rougher, which is horrible.
Seeing smooth but makes me too self-conscious. I've reached a point where I'll be looking for permanent hair removal.

They are at the level necessary to make frogs change sex and grow duplicate sets of genitals, though, so there's that.

32 yo straight male AGP here. I have a large masculine body with alot of body hair and a decent beard. When I was 14 I was quite smooth, the chest and facial hair would gradually fill in each year after. After while I sure got hairy, although not quite swarthy Mediterranean. It always seemed to me like millenials looked a lot less masculinized in their 20s than the boomers did.

Getting more than you ever will.

But in all seriousness, I've always been a technophile. I worked for IBM in the 90s, Microsoft until just after 9/11. Computers, and the internet, just always made sense to me. Plus it was kind of my fucking job.
>>
I had to undergo chemical therapy for a lack of testosterone when I was ~16. Since my late childhood and early teens I had always been very feminine, even hitting puberty just gave me some small definition and a hint of a pubic bush. That was the card I was dealt, it seemed like. Until I got to the doctor.

Wound up at that point because I went to therapy after telling my parents I felt like I might be transgendered. Luckily my psych wasn't a complete nutter and had some work done. Some hormone therapy (and HGH as well, I believe) had me doing way better. I'm still not the poster child for hairy masculinity, but I'm entirely comfortable and don't think I'm trans anymore.

What's always stuck with me, however, is a comment the doctor made to me - "this is increasingly common, and we're not sure why".

Motherfucker had a tried and tested regimine for this exact problem because he encountered it so often. He didn't say anything about it being the water or some other shit, but he damn well knew it wasn't normal.

I'm still a raging faggot, and I'm still a bit low on the hair side, but I filled out pretty nicely and actually got some muscle mass - the results were almost overnight.

Sperm counts have also dropped by about 50% in the past 20-30 years or so possibly due to environmental estrogens it's thought
>>
>>7724468
No, male. Born male, currently male. The of my post was that I thought for awhile that I was MtF, turns out I want and it was a hormone issue
>>
I thought it was common knowledge that our environment has a ton of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in it now? Especially xenoestrogens, I think? (This means earlier puberty for both sexes, feminized males and masculinzed females (masculinzed because excess estrogen gets converted into testosterone in females,))

The Endrocrine Society considers EDCs a potential health crisis: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2726844/

If you don't mind an FtM's perspective:

Females in my family are GENETICALLY prone to slightly later puberty. (Yes, I know this from genetic testing.) My predicted age of first menses was 15 - the age at which my mother, all my aunts, and my grandmother got it at.

I had just turned 12. My mother panicked and tried to insist on taking me to the doctor because she thought getting it so young was virtually impossible. She actually thought I'd injured myself somehow.

But I wasn't weird. Nearly all the girls in my class got theirs at the same time. One girl we knew didn't get hers until 14, and everyone else was baffled that she was so incredibly late.

Additionally, I had a hysterectomy really young (basically 20-30 years younger than average). I had huge fibroids wrapped around everything, endometriosis so bad that my tubes were almost nothing but scar tissue, and ovarian cysts so bad that I practically didn't have ovaries left. Hearing the description, I felt like I was hearing about one of those pictures of lab rats covered in tumours.

Living as a male pre-T, I actually passed (more than zero percent of the time, anyway) WAY past the age where you'd have thought I could have pulled it off with a baby face and no facial hair. (And yes, I'm positive I wasn't just being humoured.) How could I be an adult male with NO facial hair, and have people buy that? They did, though. Guys look so young/feminine now. I've seen 15-year-old boys who I thought were 11-12.

My take is there was a lot more social pressure to be a "MAN" back in the late '70s and early '80s. Body hair was also OK, if not preferred on a guy. Any shaving of it other than for the beard, was considered being a sissy. It also meant you may get beat up on the street. So you kept your hair even if you were a sissy.

I also spent time in early 80s NYC gay and bi cultures. I really don't remember who did and didn't have body hair. On a guy it wasn't important to this bi tranny. I think many of the gays I associated with back then shaved or waxed, but that was far from the norm for the overall gay community. As for the bi culture, I was mostly hanging with the female side. I didn't know many bisexual men. Those few that I did know had normal body hair.

As for hair, my own development can't be used as a reference. Opiates, estrogen and progesterone messed with my natural hormones and kept me hairless. Opiates are known to depress sex hormone production.

>>7717367
>>7717496
I also had parents who said use protection, but I wasn't so strict on using condoms. Somehow I never caught HIV, but some partners did and died.

>>7718099
plastic bottles...Most plastic bottles are blown up seconds before they are filled with the drink stored in them. That means roughly 50% of the plasticizers used in them escape into the drink. The rest escape into the air around the bottle. Some plasticizers are known estrogenic compounds. That is they can activate the estrogen receptors in your body.

>>7718192
>(2006) there was one token gay kid in his class. There's about a dozen in mine, and plenty more who just seem blatantly closeted.
In the past kids were much less likely to come out at school. At my second HS, there were less than 15 people in the LGB club. School size was 3600 students, and almost all in the club were lesbian or bi. Assuming 1.7% of the population are lesbian or gay and 1.9% are bisexual, that means there should have been over 100 LGB still in the closet.
>>
>>7724824
Damn you really had to act the part back then. Being a man is easier nowadays in some ways. I vaguely remember some of that hyper masculinity as a boy and later a teenager in the 90s. I'm an AGP non transitioner and i've always played along at being a man despite being an introverted nerd and failing at it badly sometimes. Nowadays with a masculinized body and years of T exposure, i'm more masc than a lot of numales, which is rather bizarre.

Jacob Sartorius, "Lohanthony", Nash Grier, and a fuckton of these other internet celebrities, since they tend to just be regular kids who get noticed for whatever reason, are practical evidence of this phenomenon. One is a fluke, a few are a coincidence, but a common theme is the result of *something*
>>
>>7726909
I doubt it. NYC's gay community is quite large and diverse. He'd also have wanted to fuck someone who basically looked female, but had a dick. Not what a typical gay wants.
>>
>>7717362

MtF trap here ... I go hairless to feel AGP sexy but jeebus is it difficult to stay smooth? Yes indeed. I'm 57 and you're right, the 60s and 70s and 80s were hairy as fuck. I think it's a fad, a phase
>>
>>7717036
There must be some social mechanism to maturation. Stress maybe.
>>
>>7727729
If you wax and use an epilator it's not excessively difficult to stay hairfree. The hardest part is actually getting started. Plus if you wait too long between epilations it just wrecks the progress. If you continually maintain it the hair weakens and thins.
Been epilating my butt for years and yes the hair inevitably disappears permanently and what does grow is barely noticeable.
>>
>>7727767
So you think it's the surplus of modernity leading to it? (Lack of stress)

Or it's the craziness of modern times leading to it? (Heavy stress)
>>
>>7728254
No doubt the weird hyperreality of modern times leads to fucked up people, but I mean responsibility--real responsibility. Kids used to sweep chimneys just to put food on the table. They'd marry and start families straight out of high school. A man was a man at 18; he had a dependent, and another one on the way. Those things weigh on a person.
>>
>>7728254
well, we do know that heavy stress pushes puberty back and stunts growth.

if i had to take a guess at the factors behind this i'd guess the body tries to enter puberty early when resources are plentiful so the resulting adult can survive better, and the cell-level mechanism for this just checks for some signifier of lots of nutrition.
>>
>>7717215
please tell stories. I want to know what it was like!

Never had food stress, just social stress. It was very had being a feminine boy back in the '70s & '80s.
