when I first came out i had back and forth arguments with my thoughts everyday often stuff like:

dont think im brave I had to get shit faced drunk and whined like a suicidal high school girl for like an entire week to my online support group before I finally built up enough courage and momentum from the constant support and psyching myself up to do it. believe me when I say I was an emotional wreck and probably completely insufferable to be around

another thing I did to make sure I didn't pussy out (because I tried several times lol) was to say on Facebook as a status update: "I have a big announcement on xx date a week from now and it is really important!!!" I had alot of family added so I made a new Facebook account for my girl self and readded all my friends and not any family. (came out to them individually and at a later dates depending on the person. my oldest sister sent out texts on my behalf to other family members I missed)

it forced me to tell them and locked me into coming out because I have like this thing where if I say I'm gonna do something publicly and make a big deal out of it I do it no matter what to save face and not seem like a pussy.

it might help someone else going through something similar. it's difficult at first, probably the most difficult thing you'll ever do if you're a complete coward afraid of confrontation like me but it is ultimately worth it and life feels brand new and weightless once you do
