One of his "things" is that he plays garbage bargain bins games. Sometimes these happen to be "games for girls", visual novels, that sort of thing. It might just be one long running joke, but boy does he sure get into them. Not any more so than any other game, but still.

He's been dealing with some serious depression for quite a while. Half of this might just be grad school related stress, but I'm almost wondering now.
