I have no idea where you got $40/hour for that. I've done that before and at best you can get to around 25/hour. Unless the 40/hour is an adjustment for the cost of living in your area. Not even talking about my field (tech writing), but on my team (dev, PMs, QA, etc.) women out number men. All 3 of my PMs are female. Lead dev is female (as was the previous lead dev). 3 out of our 5 devs are female. Lead QA is female (as was our previous lead QA). 3 out of our 5 QAs are female. Fueld readiness is female. The tech writer I replaced was female. All of my doc managers are female, and most of our editors are female.

I've yet to go to a meeting at my company where men out numbered women. In fact a lot of meetings don't even have men. Even just walking around women are easily half the company (if not more desu).

I think my company is probably more progressive and diverse than many others, even within our liberal area. I'm sure outside of our area men outnumber women in tech. But where I live and work, this has not been the case. Still though, I was always under the impression that tech writing was mostly females, even outside of my area (my tech writing classes were online and had people from all over).

And yes, all of my coworkers apart from my supervisor are women. I am the only tranny at my job afaik, but I am stealth so it's coo.
