Sometimes when they prescribe things they intentionally give you the highest priced medicine if you have insurance. Pharmaceutical companies work out deals regarding distribution like that so insurance companies basically just eat the cost but it's all fake numbers since insurance companies are then reimbursed by pharmaceutical companies for ensuring coverage of their brand.
