I guess I'm about confused by the arguments that lots of

feminists say that
"gender is how you identify and you can identify however you want so there are infinite genders"

in reality there are two genders since that is what society has set up (social construct) and so if someone doesn't identify as either gender they aren't a "new gender" they're just neither gender.

different societies may potentially have other genders but ours doesn't so who gives a fuck

I've taken a couple gender study courses and from what I've gathered, people are misconstruing gender for personality. I'm more in line with the 4 genders method because based on the idea that gender is how you choose to express the combination or lack of femininity and masculinity.

People probably heard just the 'How you express yourself' part and ran away with the rest.

Yep. People are basically using the word 'gender' in place of 'personality' and claiming everyone's is unique.

It's really funny how often pop feminism manages to reduce people to their sex/gender. When a woman achieves shit, she's always just asked "what's it like being a woman in this industry?", if she ever fails, she's completely de-individualised and summed up with "A woman has faced x at the hands of y - the struggle is real!" etc etc
And now they've gone as far as to define a person's entire identity, everything that makes up who they are, around their gender. The thing that real feminism fought for years to break down as being not an important enough factor to influence how people are free to live their lives.
