So, I am 20 and I think since I am starting HRT in about 5 days, I have a good shot at "passing", but I don't really care if I do. I just want to get rid of my penis and increase my estrogen levels and lower my T levels. That's all.

However, I have a friend who I met at the local trans resource center, who is 26 and has a youthful face, like me or maybe an 18 year old, and she is constantly worried about not passing because she is a late transition-er. My question for her is: Will she most likely need FFS to get large facial changes, or can she expect some small changes with HRT? Maybe a little of both, or what?

That's the whole point of the thread.
If it was "hons" vs "passers" I could completely understand your point.
But the thread isn't that. It's one based on age, and an assumption that a certain age group is legitimate, while another isn't, and the line was drawn very firmly.

If you were to be realistic, you'd probably find that the distribution of people who pass verses the people who don't is probably a linear relationship, starting to tip around 17 or 18.
This throws 'legitimacy' out the door, which seems like a childish concept which doesn't even serve to prove anything when it is constantly mashed with passing (which many 'legitimate' transpeople don't do).

Yeah, my waist is 24-25 inches. I know that I pass. But I have BDD, I obsessively "check" myself with measuring tape and mirrors, and my biggest problems with myself are my face, my shoulders (17 inches) and my hips (only 34 inches).

However, I will consider my transition complete after GRS and minor FFS, and try to move on without worrying too much about minor flaws.

*shrug* FtM here. I transitioned after the age of 8, when I started menstruating and growing tits, etc, so it was pretty much too late to have age make a difference after that. I guess I was out as trans at 14 and not wasting high school was something.

I do get told that I should model, and get complicated on my "long model legs" by cis girls who don't know I'm trans. So that's something. I actually tried, but my face honestly makes it impossible. I knew I was trans when I was super young. My parents knew about me since around 11 years old. They didn't care. They made me go to a therapist who completely dismissed my feelings and tried to get me comfortable with being male. I watched in grotesque horror as my body transformed into that of a man.

Finding out you're trans does not equal transitioning. If it did, I would be living a cis girl life right now, rather than being a suicidally depressed 26 year old man with cone-tits.

It certainly doesn't help that I was born in 1990. I often wonder about how much my life would have been different if I was born just 5 years later. My parents meant well.
