Why is MK is still the only game series to have gay/bi characters without holding a BIG REVEAL PLEASE GIVE US BROWNIE POINTS press release or going full Bioware and making The Gay One their defining characteristic?
Just one line of Jin angsting and two lines implying Mileena and Tanya fuck once in a while. Subtle, a facet of their personalities rather than the entire thing, and not hyped up as a transparent PR move. How is fucking Mortal Kombat the only game to do this right?
What's always bugged me about this argument is it implies you cannot have a gay character that is flamboyant and obviously gay, or make being gay their character arc
Those people do exist
Is it just shitty writers?

Overwatch revealed that the closest thing to a main character is a lesbian in a comic without making a big deal out of it literally yesterday.

Or do it like Steven Universe where you have an entire race of only one gender so one loving another one is simply normal.

Your game sucks, souls is way better

A Shitty writers
B Being gay barely makes any fucking difference in the game, he never dates anyone or expresses interest in anyone
C There are many other games where this happens
D Unless the guy is flamboyant or expresses romantic interest in someone it's literally impossible to know if he's gay or not, so it's possible for a bunch of gay characters to be flying under your radar

Literally what is wrong with egalitarianism? Do you not like equal treatment?

>it implies you cannot have a gay character that is flamboyant and obviously gay, or make being gay their character arc
You can, it's just much harder to justify to the critical public.
The intentions behind the inclusion of lgbt characters are a very important factor in how people react.
