does anybody know someone who's actually been on hormones for 8-10 years or over ?
most fellow trannies i meet are only about a few months or 2 years in at the most, which sometimes freaks me out about the realistic stability of this life style

its almost like most people primarily interact with other people in their age group
>>7265021
I've got many friends
i've noticed that many trannies either chose to live their transexuality publicly (or at least not hiding it when confronted) and there are others that, once able to live stealth, go full stealth and cut any relationship with the rest of the community

there are very few people who are still out as trans by that mark, but yeah, i've met a pretty substantial number of people who are long-term post-transition
all the people who ran late 90s/early 2000s sites are still transitioned and often still intermittently update them, and that's people who have been on hormones for twenty years or more
i think the guy who runs the transitional male is 30 years on t now or something

Not personally. I remember there was a 21 year old here, I guess she's 22 now, who said she was on estrogen since she was 13. She was applying to grad school at the time. Things sounded like they went well for her.
There are a couple of people who are 60+ that have been on hrt for decades, and they look like regular old grandmas and grandpas.
I don't remember any names, but I'm sure someone knows at least a couple.

lynn conway (48 years on hrt) comes to mind as the immediate example, mostly because she's so positively viewed on /lgbt/

Wendy Carlos is another example. On HRT since 1968.

could also point to april ashley, who started hrt in the late 50s and had srs in 1960
DAMN THESE BITCHES UGLY!!!
>>7267956
Take it as encouragement to be kind and don't worry about it. We're all destined to be ugly and saggy if we even live that long. Cis or Trans.

Didn't HRT used to kill people back then? I don't think antiandrogens became commonplace until the mid-90s.
Most of the studies I've seen pre-1990 used megadoses of estradiol and gauged testicular atrophy by how well it was working basically lol
Cause the only way it would work is if it damaged your testicles basically.
>>7268042
It's called an orchiectomy, anon.
>>7268049
They still had to do estradiol before an orchi from what I've read. They were using like 16-20mg and maybe higher of estradiol and by the time they had an orchiectomy they found significant testicular atrophy. Basically the huge dosage allowed it to act like an antiandrogen by inhibiting steroidogenesis and atrophying the testicles.

lynn conway looks incredible for 78, though she's had work done
and april ashley is 81 now but was a sex symbol in her youth
>>7268042
more dangerous estrogens were used, and antiandrogens weren't used
but there are fewer recorded deaths or health complications than you'd think (probably a lot that were lost to history, though)

that was supposed to have this picture attached

i personally believe that most "real" trannies past the 2-3 year mark pass well enough and are comfortable enough to no longer need support groups, so they just drop off the grid and go stealth.
many, or at least some of the "transtrenders" grow the fuck up eventually and snap the fuck out of it.
you can live a very stable, and authentic life as a tranny, and many other trans folk can attest to that fact, though many of them prefer to stay invisible.
t. stealth mtf tranny on hrt for over 6 years, 25 yo, employed, and married to a great guy.
