The way I see it, something went wrong about me. Either a neurological/genetic anomaly, or a defect in brain development during childhood and teenage years. I wish I'd known for sure, but it just isn't researched well enough yet.

I definetly used to think of it as a voluntary thing when I first started, like my mentality was, "I am not a girl now but will become one." But Ithat was just me repressing, I hung out with little girls as a child and played with dolls and stuffed animals, I wanted to dress like a girl, and always had an interest in transexuals. I definitely think of myself as a girl now, and consider myself a girl even looking back now, but this could largely be due to hormones.
After my experiences though I would argue chemical brain composition is more determinate of gender than biology, even if there are some of us who were just men who had a mental illness, once you're on hormone you start to think and act like as a girl.
In LGBT theory, people like me are Tru-trans, and if you werent tru-trans and started hormones you would experience gender dysphoria and seek to detransition, but I'm really not sure, anon.
