Normally what happens is that when you apply for dissablity benefit in Ireland, they turn down the application, if you appeal, chances are they turn that down too, and then you have to make a court case out of it.

Asuka is the female lead, sorry. She shows up fashionably late to make an impact, she's the most memorable character from the show.

Rei is a lot more to shinji than merely a love interest, she is the catalyst through which he comes to terms with himself and the world. Compared to Asuka who just berates and insults and only indirectly helps shinji. Shinjis interactions with Rei are more human than any interaction between rei and asuka, other than the very last one. She is a broken character with nothing going on for her other than the fact that she is an Eva pilot and the fact that she has a crush on a grown man. This is proven when she literally breaks down after being unable to pilot the Eva. She is more of a doll than Rei ever was in her life, because her whole life, from start to the point where she dies fighting the manufactured Evas, she is NERV's tool. Even when she is surrounded by hostile Evas, she needs a direct order from Misato to do anything, along with her mother giving her a morale boost in deus ex machina fashion.

Compare that to Rei (where the whole point of her arc is to prove that she is a real person and not just a clone of anyone) who solves her own problems and questions herself (asuka does neither throughout the whole series). Rei is a natural born leader and competent, but isn't arrogant and will let others lead if they believe they can do it better (even if they can't). She isn't stuck to Eva, she understands them for what they are and isn't very bothered when she isn't allowed to pilot one anymore. Her reward for all this is that she obtains supernatural powers toward the end of the series (effectively) and uses them to help shinji get over himself, defeat her captor Gendo and ultimately allow shinji and the rest of the world to have a happy ending.

reality would disagree with you. In fact, for the vast majority of the time after NGE was released, Rei consistently beat Asuka in almost all the popularity polls. She is one of the most iconic figures of anime and has spawned a huge amount of Rei clones. Asuka only took over with the release of Rebuild 3.0, which makes sense because the only purpose of that movie was to destroy Rei's character and prop up Asuka as the de facto female lead, sacrificing characters such as Misato and Ritsuko. What the fuck no, name a single time they have a meaningful conversation where shinji doesnt walk away uneasy and slightly confused.
Ive already brought up the scenes where they discuss the reason to pilot and how awkward Reis response is in contrast to the conversation Shinji and Asuka have over it. Lets also look at the difference between the kissing scene and the underwear scene. Rei reacts like a robot leaving Shinji confused and awkward, she reacts like an automaton and then slaps shinji when he tries to open up to her. In contrast Shinji and Asuka have a conversation and are hanging out together at home, something we can assume they do a lot by the way, when Asuka decides to try to press for Shinjis affections.
For a third scene, lets look at the beginning of 24 when Asuka and Shinji are fighting because Shinji told Asuka that Kaji was dead and she was in denial. I cant think of any other character that shinji feels comfortable with enough to yell at them.
For a final nail in the coffin, lets bring up the conversation Asuka and Shinji have after Asuka gets a call from her step mom, Asuka and Shinji are clearly comfortable with eachother, atleast until Asuka flips out due to the ego issues she's been building up. Its very clear that the character Shinji is most comfortable with is Asuka.

that's not true AT ALL. It's true that Rei 3 has found a part of her soul that makes her more complete, but do you think the rei in episode 3 would have disobeyed a direct order by Gendo to go and save Shinji? The fact that she questions herself throughout the whole series and tries to come up with answers? None of this is development to you? It seems like you're just ignoring parts of the show senpai.

I'm pretty sure that timeline is wrong. Rei hasn't existed for 14 years, but was created right after Yui was absorbed into unit 01, that's quite a bit earlier. Also there is no proof that Ritsuko ever abused her, she consistently acts nice towards Rei up until the point where she destroys her spare bodies, which is more of a slight against Gendo than it is to Rei.
