The reason is that people are more likely to judge a woman's value based on her appearance and to a lot of people, all a woman really is is her body. I think trans people should be more flexible when it comes to where they live, because most people who are unpassing in one area will pass 100 % in another (Asian mtfs living in western countries, Scandinavian ftms living in Asia etcetera).
