Yeah, I could see how a lot of femboys might have BDD and a sort of peter pan syndrome instead of legit gender dysphoria. Maybe the ex-MtF portions simply realize they have that issue instead of GD. That, or they see living as a woman as unreachable goal and settle for the second best thing.

Only real way to know is if they got to honestly choose whether they'd trade their current body for a female one if given the chance. Can't deny that there's a lot of incentive to do so. Femme males and MtFs are pretty much relegated to a subhuman caste in a lot of societies while cis females are near the very top of the social hierarchy.
