There is definitely a substantial amount of actual scientific methodology applied compared to other social sciences, as well as interdisciplinary research which involves few natural sciences. Anything can be 'studies', especially if it sells well and people can make business out of it. You can make studies out of anything. Gender studies private schools that offer even up to Master degrees are thriving both here and in the US. That exclusion of history/archaeology/anthropology and even ethnology from the reputable fields and putting them in the basket with hobby-tier things mostly harm our reputation. I know archeology doesn't get us into space or cures our diseases, but there always was and always will be a place for it in the civilized society that cares about research and preservation of its past.

Yoga with Adrienne on youtube has really great beginner videos for just about everyone, she doesn't make it into this "breathe through your vagina" nonsense. Just all about tuning into your own body, realizing what muscles are at work, and breathing. Constantly breathing. Good luck getting through her 40 min beginner video.

General tips: don't snap into poses, yoga is meant to be a sort of transition-based routine.
