I'm gay, but the person I'm looking to date identifies as gender neutral.
I want to respect their decision and try and be supportive, but it's impossible for me to see this from their point of view. I also just am not interested in women at all.
What would I even do in this position?

Gender neutral as in "use whatever pronouns you think fit me best, it doesn't bother me" or gender neutral as in "I insist on being called xir!"?
If it's the former, those people are pretty chill. They might turn out to be trans later, or they might turn out to be cis, or they might stay neutral forever.
If it's the latter, run.

They say they prefer "they them".

Huh, never talked to someone like that. I have no idea then.
Best of luck anon.

Cut it and run.

So just treat them like any other dude and use gender neutral pronouns. It's not that hard bro, stop over thinking simple shit

Is this really that important to you? I mean, if they're not super annoying about it, who cares? Does their non-gender define them? It seems like rather stupid thing to let get between you.

It's less it would get between how I feel about them, and more I don't want to hurt their feelings if I don't see them how they honestly want to be seen.

If they identify as gender neutral but look like a dude that most likely means they are fine with being thought of as masculine, they just don't feel any connection to those assigned gender roles. You don't need to see them any special way, just treat them how they ask to be treated

Alright, good to know. Thanks anon.
Does they be having a penis? Does they be XY or XX?
