It's people like him that are the reason I was too afraid to come out as a kid before Testosterone fucked me. As a kid born in 1990, there were no trans role models at all when I was growing up. A thousand times this. I feel awful saying it since there's plenty of legit trans people who don't pass, but when the only examples of trans people you saw growing up were hons and fetishists, it acts as a pretty big deterrent- I wanted to be a normal girl, not... that.
Personally I know I don't pass quite yet so I'm waiting until I feel more confident in my appearance because I'm terrified that I might end up making anyone else feel the same way I did growing up.
