You can only know if it's low self esteem by evaluating how you feel with an actual guy. If you ever get the chance to go on a date with a guy and the entire thing feels forced and you feel no chemistry irl (make sure to do this with an attractive man) then you are on to something, and you need to seek counseling because there's a whole slew of things going on to turn a low self image into same sex fetishization.
