>tfw can't get into most LGBT cinema
Is it internalized homophobia, or is most of it just shit and/or 2preachy4me? I vaguely enjoyed Blue Is the Warmest Color and Tom at the Farm. But that's it.
Which LGBT themed movies does legbutt like? What do you like about them?

Do you enjoy other romantic, rom-com, and BAWW movies?
If not, it's just because the genre inherently doesn't appeal to you. Internalised homophobia does mean something, but nowadays people use it to say "you don't like thing and I like thing therefore you're a bad person"; pay no attention to them.
I remember two and both were crap, desu
>Do you enjoy other romantic, rom-com, and BAWW movies?
Not really. But I do tend to find them more tolerable than gay ones.

I liked them. Tom failed as a thriller for the most part, but I enjoyed the themes it explored. Complicated grief and weirdness that can come for it, isolation, open secrets, stuff like that. Blue I liked because of it's focus on the cultural differences above all else. It's a rarely honest portrayal of a relationship between two people from a different class. There will always be irreconcilable differences there.

Nah, not the two you mentioned in op, some other two movies
>>6858473
I enjoy comedies about gay guys. Last one I saw was John Apple Jack, which is about a guy falling for his sister's fiance who is also his childhood crush.

9 Dead Gay Guys is also pretty funny.

It's pretty much because almost every film ever made except for maybe 1-3 are pure unadulterated trash.

The first gay movie I saw was Eating Out. Does it really count as that serious of a movie?
idk, shit like Breakfast on Pluto and Tangerine appeal to me, but they're just good movies and I'm a tranny faggot so...
>>6858834
Iwould add Burnt Money to the list.Damn I can't think of many good gay films.
>no one has mentioned "But I'm a Cheerleader"

that shit is hilarious
All of the LGBT films I've seen (minus a couple) are just poorly written, so.. definitely not just you.
I agree. I sometimes think I have internalized homophobia when I can't get into a gay storyline.
Netflix actually got a few new quality LGBT films recently... unlike two jewels among piles of art house weird possessive evil stalker lesbian gf dung.
Movie's I liked enough to remember (no particular order):
But I'm a Cheerleader!
GBF
Jenny's Wedding
I Love You Philip Morris
La Cage Aux Folles
The Way He Looks
Also some lesbo web series:
Carmilla (only watched s1)
Disengaged (only seen a few eps)

Does "This Film Is Not Yet Rated" count?

Good homo movies?
try "Friends and Family"
but actually good gay movies are this series
Third Man Out (2005)
Shock to the System (2006)
On the Other Hand, Death (2008)
Ice Blues (2008)
a gay detective solves crimes with gay themes and gay interest
>>6863069
The Way He Looks, is a good example of that, more or less.
>>6865828
I tried to get into this because it was a show with a gay protag without being a "gay show", but unfortunately that gay protag is insufferable. He's supposed to be relateably awkward but unless you're entirely incompetent and incapable of empathy you're not going to relate very much.
Then again, this is 4chan...
