Listen up, I've been to the hospital before for shit unrelated to self-medding hormones and all that, and I told them exactly what I take.

All they will do is give you a lecture on how you shouldn't self med. It'll be a scary sounding lecture but the doc probably won't even know spiro is used for testosterone blocking and it's a pretty ignorable lecture.

That's it. Just tell them you're transgender when they ask why you're taking it, even though you're not (I assume). Be outright honest, nothing bad will happen. Cypro costs me less per day than spiro did, bica can also cost less than spiro with the right source.
Cypro even has the added benefit of costing less the longer you're on it, because less and less is required to keep testosterone down. I already was on spiro over 2 years before switching, so I really don't give a fuck about sterility from it considering I had a high chance of being sterile before and no intentions of making babies at any point in my life.
Both are often claimed to be more effective than spiro by people who have taken both spiro and either bica or cypro. Everyone is different, and you should realize my main beef with spiro is that it -can- have issues for many people, while we don't have a bunch of people complaining about shitty side effects from other AA's. It's a gamble. Will spiro work fine? Sure, for some. It works fine for my GF, but it didn't work as well for me, considering my side effects, and I've had some extra benefits since switching to cypro, I wish I had been on it all along.

Should people go for spiro first? Not necessarily. It's only a partial testosterone blocker, with weak affinity. Other meds are cheaper, have fewer side effects, don't require you to drink more water, and are actually designed to be anti-androgens. Spiro is only an AA as a side effect, and has loads of side effects which must be mitigated. If it works fine for you, good for you, but realize that it isn't the miracle drug you think it is for everyone else. People have better chances starting on another AA. I say this likely haven taken spiro far longer than you did, and actually having experience with other AAs.
