I support the idea of letting that word change meaning. It's being doing it since it was first used and there's no reason why we shouldn't continue the trend. Keep using the word faggot as a pejorative for assholes and in a few generations everyone will forget it was a homophobic slur. After all, when was the last time you heard an old person consider it to be ageist when someone is called a faggot?

He's also apparently associated with the alt-right, which is extremely opposed to modern liberalism and feminism and in some cases holds attitudes similar to neo-nazis. That likely has some bearing on why he was banned. I mean, there are dozens of *chan fan-pages on FB, which often feature posts containing the word fag/faggot, and I don't think people are getting banned for that. If they're going to ban people due to the word being offensive, they'd be more likely to target random edgy kids doing it, rather than gays trying to "reclaim" the word.
