Also, the main point isn't necessarily up the structure anyway. It's about the body map within the brain, which is male or female. It doesn't line up with their physical sex in trans people. So even if the brains looked almost the same, the existence of dysphoria still shows that there are male and female brains.

4. Have the shit beaten out of you.

This is a preposterous claim. The idea that the mind comes with some pre-constructed map of the body is downright ludicrous. It's perfectly logical to point to differences in brain structure and say that they contribute to a condition, it's utterly insane to go further and suggest these differences show that the brain "knows" what gender is.

I'm essentially open to the idea of such a "map" in the brain (I've heard that also being invoked in the cases where someone is convinced that a certain limb like an arm or a leg doesn't belong to them, or where someone is convinced they must really have a tail), but I'm not aware of there being any hard evidence of this.

At the moment I would be very interested in research that looks critically at past findings of clearly sex dimorphic parts of the brain, and verifies or proves wrong those findings. That would be interesting.

The question is irrelevant for me. I hated having a masculine body, so I transitioned to a feminine one. Being a woman is a function of convenience because 1) society expects people who look and act a certain way to be identified as women 2) being treated like a woman is preferable to being treated like a man (for me). I don't think there is enough evidence to say one way or the other whether or not people have an inborn sense of man or woman. Personally, I just wanted to be a woman.
