Yeah you're right in a sense, hormones do help a great deal. But consider this, even if your face passes well or whatever, parts of you would always be completely "off". You would maybe have male hands, male feet, an overall male bone structure.

Some people can live with it but others might not be able to. It's also hard to think of yourself as a woman when you have to go through all the surgeries, hormones etc and then still have masculine features and no uterus.
