Reread what I wrote. Average guys and even masc guys do this. I meet them on grindr for dates, I go for the ones that looks like average straight guys mostly, or the masculine ones. But they all have the same attitude.

It's possible you're deliberately looking for this in gay men you meet and so creating a false bias where any slight character trait means you read them as homos, whereas you do not read the same trait negatively in straight guys. That's also a series of traits and not an "attitude".
People have gay friends because it is something they have in common. It's not the same, talking about gay sex with my straight friends in the way that my straight friends talk about straight sex with each other. But I'm not only friends with gay people because they're gay, I'm friends with them because they're gay and also because we'd be friends anyway.
Gay friends are useful because that's a way to meet other gay people who could potentially be into you.

Typically the logic is that if people know you're gay, if they're also gay and attracted to you then you've increased your chances of finding a bf.
