Sometimes I oddly feel like my girlfriend is the man in the relationship, she's moving into a small apartment next month, and I'd literally be gaming to move into my house everyday and be an hour closer to my work in a way nicer place, but she doesn't want help.

How do you as a MTF transgender person define the meaning of "woman" or "female"? What is a woman?

Every time I've asked elsewhere (regardless of the gender identity of those replying to me) I just got vague answers like:

>a woman is my gender identity
>wtf you dont know what a women is hurr durr
>a woman is someone who identifies as a woman
>a woman is someone with woman chromosomes (not the answer I'm looking for because it doesn't deal with transgender women)

But that doesn't really answer my question. What I mean is "what IS a woman?"
And what makes you a woman? (if you give a definition for woman it's okay if you just reply "...and I'm a woman because I fit that definition" btw)

The answers are vague because a woman is a vague concept. At the core, a woman is someone who is female and identifies as being female, or someone who identifies as being female in spite of their biology not matching. What being a woman entails varies from culture to culture, and from group to group within that culture. The only constant is that there seems to be a universal awareness that there are men and women, and an internal awareness of which one you are.

A woman is a combination of a hormone profile and an identity.

You can identify as a woman, and can be treated as such, you can transition to be a woman, but to me you really aren't one fully until you've been on estrogen and removed your testosterone for a year or two and the brain has reshaped, your flight or fight reactions have changed (your body stops pumping out vasoconstrictors when you're angry) and you experience the weakness and how hard you have to work for any amount of strength, that comes with being on estrogen long term.

All the societal stuff about how we treat women is based upon the weakness from lack of testosterone, and the emotional difference from the different chemicals that are produced when confronted (men amp up for a fight, women's bodies release chemicals that make them more relaxed and help them bond emotionally) so why not put the bar at the hormones that produce those differences
