Once I know they're for real, I would get them a name change, move them to a different school district if they want to go stealth or if their current school sucks ass for trans people, replace their wardrobe, get them on puberty blockers when puberty starts, get them E at 13 or T at 14 (though I heard something about T stunting height somehow, so maybe 17 instead for T). In terms of toys, I probably wouldn't get them anything they didn't want from the beginning (who wants a toy they spent money on going unused?) I imagine I would be envious on some level, because that would be far, faaaaaaar beyond anything my parents did. But I would assume if I have a kid, I'm in some sense raising them as their mother, so my situation at the time can't be as bad as it was at the beginning. I'm sure as hell not going to be a late transition at 40 or 50 hon or repressiongen father.

I would be disappointed. I would feel like I somehow failed as a parent b/c I've allowed them to fail as a person. I would go talk to a therapist to find the best way to help them grow out of their gender confusion, so that they have self acceptance of their birth sex and can mature to be a normal, healthy person in adulthood. Hopefully all this before they turn 18.
