If you don't get a nasty strain then it's just some minor facial blemish for however long it takes your body to fight back
Being vigilant with hygiene medication and diet can reduce your breakouts to once or twice a year for a period of 3-4 days of few and minor sores
If you do get a nasty strain then you chew on some pricey antiviral's and the problem is null
