Uh.. So I've recently discovered this odd trend of intersex / FTMs in olympic sports during the 1920s/30s - Is there any background on this? Seems kinda odd, how did ftms even transition back then ?
Some examples of what I'm talking about-

well intersex makes sense, seeing as their bodies might be closer to cis males' and sports might be easier...also its not too surprising that ftms are into sports seeing how its a typical "male" career. i'd have to look into it more, but i think around the 20s and 30s there was a bit of progression wrt trans rights, the danish girl and all that. and im pretty sure it slowed down right around ww2. but are you sure there were more notable trans/intersex athletes during this time, or you just stumbled across several of them?

That was around the time that steroids were originally isolated and used for sports. It's not surprising that FtMs started to appear.
