It's because the comic is written by two women who couldn't be arsed to be remotely accurate. Which is something we have gone through several times.

Still, I can never get over how lazy and stagnant ToY has become. At first this was a half decent comic, now it's nothing but shallow cuddle porn that fujoshis will continue to happily gobble up. Nothing barely happens, conflicts are simply resolved without any type of struggle, all but three characters are shit, and the art is becoming copy and pasted. Tripping Over You is a comic that should have ended long ago because after graduation the authors didn't know what to do with it.

The climax/falling action should have been this:

>Liam stays in law school for a bit until he rebels against based Eli

I deleted everything off my Tumblr (where I posted most of my art) and my computer is broken and also 50k miles away from me right now so no can do.
All I can say is I have anatomy down on a simplistic approach and I'm bad at drawing buildings but really good at coloring but bad at drawing panellings too which I'll work on when I get a new computer.

I love how British this comic is. It's the most British thing I've ever read.
From the "Hmph!" to the literal staring dagger panel (which is something I thought was only in tapestries) to the single black guy because I see that in a lot of British media and the fact the art is so bad, like, it was alright at the beginning but now it's really bad and it's not even a consistent bad because sometimes it gets okay for one panel. It's amazing. I love this comic. And the writing is superb.

Every time Sakana goes back to the main "everyone's coming on my date, oh no" story, I lose interest. My problem with it is how the most interesting characters keep getting shoved aside for the silly, light main plot. Honestly, I feel like there never should've been a "oh no, my abusive ex boyfriend is stalking me again" plot line in this otherwise kid friendly story. It shows in how Mad tags every page with This Guy on Tumblr, so readers can easily avoid that character, like its something that can be totally skipped and isn't actually necessary for the story. I'm mostly annoyed by it, because that's the only part I want to read.

I wouldn't call Sakana a gay comic, it's a cute and silly straight comic with an unfitting dramatic gay subplot. I don't think its badly written, but poorly fit into the rest of the comic.

Most gay webcomics have lame plots and characters because they're first time hobby comics made by new creators, who just want to play out their fluffy fantasies. That's why they don't deal with the outsider feeling of being gay, (Fritz Fargo, BFF, Stereophonic and TJ & Amal are the only other comics I can think of that do ITT?) that, and most of them are made by straight girls. I don't really want to compare the majority of those with Sakana, Mad is a professional comic writer, and went to an art school just for drawing and writing comics.

I like Stereophonic a lot, but its not a typical gay romance comic. You have to go into it expecting a slooooooow burn. I mean, its only been a week or so in the story. It's not for everyone.

The art isn't great or dynamic, but I think it fits the story and the setting really well. I like it, but I already really like that flat, 60's mod style.

No, that was a joke people were cracking. My guess is Dude has a bunch of conflicting feelings right now. He's not homophobic per se, but he strikes me as the guy that would get extremely uncomfortable if things got a bit too close with another man. He had an ex mock him for being more interested in hanging with his friend than her, so that contributes to that uncomfortableness.
