Today's turned out to be a really good day.

Had to get up early to get blood drawn again because the hospital lab forgot my glucose metabolism test.

Got back, dropped into the post office to pick up my waist training corset. It's taken a while to work through 2 mock-ups to get the measurements right but I have it now and it's brill.

Checked my e-mails, and Webberley was happy to prescribe me this month's doses before receiving my glucose metabolism results which I'm relieved about, and it turns out the dispensing pharmacy she uses has such a good price for private scripts of firmagon that I'm saving the best part of £80 a month for it.

my primary use for contacting her is to get that private prescription which cuts the cost of degarelix. if i self medded with spiro, cypro, bica etc it would probably be quicker and cheaper just to self med using qhi, adc, ihp etc as most people do.
i was hoping the blood test service she uses would be of use but no, it's a waste of money trust me. even when i kept hydrated there was no way i was going to get enough blood from a finger prick test. they sent me out a vacutainer kit too for private analysis, but unless you're acquainted with someone who can draw blood from you, that won't help either. i was just lucky that i managed to convince my GP to put the blood tests through on the NHS.
the last thing her service is potentially useful for is liasing with the NHS to bolster your case for treatment. i'm not quite at that stage though as i'm happy to carry on medding either self-medding or with private script, as i sit around on the porterbrook waiting list.

hayfever is a massive bitch. if you really struggle and over the counter antihistamines don't work well enough, try and get fexofenadine prescribed. i don't know what the situation is in ireland, but they might only give you 120mg since that's the upper limit recommended by the BNF for allergic rhinitis. i'm lucky enough that a visit to the sheffield immunology clinic a few years back established that i can get 180mg, even though it's not on-label for hayfever at that dose.
you can combine fexo with some OTC antihistamines. there is no point in taking loratadine with it because they have similar mechanisms of action and fexo is more powerful. chlorpheniramine is my preferred OTC one. i like to buy the piriton syrup (the one for kids, i get weird looks but whatever. it's an open secret that everyone likes stuff like calpol anyway), and i just take a swig or two now and again when it gets really bad.

You need a high temp output heat gun. It should be able to melt solder. Some may need to have their air flow lowered to do that. Mine needs it's vents turned to minimum air flow. You can test it by trying to melt solder wire from your spool.

BTW, for soldering whole PCBs of surface mount components I use a reflow oven made from a dead toaster oven, and my own temperature controller.
