1. FtMs usually pass perfectly fine. They may end up as manlets, but almost all will be fine otherwise no matter how old they are. A lot of MtFs don't have that luxury, and in most cases if you don't transistion before 25 you're fucked unless you're already somewhat androgynous. Even in the 16-25 range you can be fucked if puberty was really aggressive. This helps in two ways. One, not looking like a freak tends to help with social acceptance, and two, FtMs can often go completely stealth very easily, and thus never experience any hate from society because a lot of people don't even realize they exist.

It's a lot more socially acceptable for girls to act or dress masculine than it is for guys to act or dress feminine, so to the point of view of a bigot, FtMs tend to just be seen as tomboys whereas MtFs are creepy, rapist, perverts.
