>Republicans: Against Big Government except not.

The most hypocritical part is this prohibits CITIES AND COUNTIES from enacting their own laws. It's amazing just how two faced they are. This is why we need Hillary in the white house. We can not allow this ant-LGBT (increasingly getting more anti-lgbt) Republicans anywhere near public office, they have shown time and time again to pretty much try to make the lives of every living human being total shit.
>>
>>5913910
So do muslims
>>
>>5913899
>I don't give a shit what happens in North Carolina, it's the redneck state and that's how it is

They pass it there, they will start passing it in other states. This is the THIRD FUCKING STATE in the last couple of years to enact the ban the LGBT cities and counties ordinances bills.

Republicans won't stop until they enact Christian Sharia law and start executing all gay people. If Cruz is in, America goes theocracy.

Republicans have a SUPER majority in the house and senate idiot. They walked out because they knew what the vote was going to be and how the governor was going to sign it.

Lol, are you kidding? Trump is the worst. The worst out of every political candidate. I would rather have Bush back than sign in Trump. That man is borderline insane with an absolute god-complex. A private business pays taxes for those roads, for public services.
Public services, as the name implies, means anyone can use them, and are by nature non-discriminatory.
Private establishments, on the other hand, run by their own money. As such, they (should) have the right to deny their services to whoever they want. It would be a retarded business model to ban gays, as you would receive backlash, but they're not obligated to give you shit.
It's not a right.

He is terribly insecure and extremely immature when it comes to criticism. He fosters no intelligent discourse and instead takes to publicly insulting his opponents. He promotes war crimes. He promotes violence amongst his followers (while saying he is a man of peace). He wants to censor media.

And not knowing the source doesn't make it non-existent.

Furthermore I don't get the comment about Hillary. I'm not American. I just comment on what I see. And Trump is insanely popular on 4chan and on this board. And I just don't see why. Every single speech he has given and appearance he made in public was littered with lies, insecurity and unconstitutional acts.

Furthermore, the wall is his most retarded idea yet. How anyone thinks it would actually be worth all the effort is beyond me. It would probably cost more than 20 billion dollars, double that for maintenance in the span of several years and would be built on the land of American citizens who's owned territory would be forcefully taken by the government. And for what? So that people just take ladders with them to get over the wall? Ladders and ropes?

His persistence about this stupifying undertaking and the fact that nobody has actually criticized him for it speaks volumes about American politics. Instead, other reps copied his idea and promised a wall too. Fucking priceless.

>I'm done, you're clearly a retarded highschooler if you can't tell the difference between social conservatives and libertarians.

1. American "libertarianism" is far right wing. It's not about equality or anarchism like true libertarian socialism found in Europe. The American branch is all about total corporate tyranny.

As for you fallacy of "difference between social conservatives and libertarians" I'll have you know a good many libertarians have advocated the death penalty for lgbt people. There was a libertarian Republican not to long ago running in OK, who said homosexuals should be stoned to death. Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and the tea party are libertarian and they are social fascists and anti-gay as fuck.

ISIS is libertarian in the sense they got rid of the state and when you get rid of the state guess what replaces it? RELIGION and religious LAWS. Not state laws, religious laws. So basically advocating for libertarianism you are advocating for a society where homos are executed on a daily basis, since there are no police to protect lgbt people.

> it's a "right" for private businesses to charge people 75% extra for being black?
It's a right for them to do whatever they want within the law, it's their enterprise. If they want to do something so blatantly stupid that they receive backlash from their customers, let them.

>I don't think businesses should be allowed to discriminate
Why?
Medical care is in a different field and all providers are required by law to help you in the case of an emergency. It has absolutely no barring to whether or not bubba jim's cake shope is forced to bake you a vanilla penis pie.

You seem to be paranoid that all business will suddenly become hostile towards gays, which simply isn't true.
>>

>It's a right for them to do whatever they want within the law, it's their enterprise. If they want to do something so blatantly stupid that they receive backlash from their customers, let them.
yeah no, if they want to do something in an environment they share with other people they can get their anus raised in the air so we can smack their ass, because thats how the law should work, and instead, corporations just buy whatever bill they want to put into place, like SOPA, which passed fucking easily when the people making it finally sucked off google. what you thought google was against sopa?
>>
>>5914658
Because the free market can already contribute to the oppression of those born without money. Giving them the right to refuse service arbitrarily would just allow more bases of oppression.

>>5914691
>It's a right for them to do whatever they want within the law, it's their enterprise. If they want to do something so blatantly stupid that they receive backlash from their customers, let them.
I'm pretty sure that charging people extra for being black is NOT within the law.

>Medical care is in a different field and all providers are required by law to help you in the case of an emergency. It has absolutely no barring to whether or not bubba jim's cake shope is forced to bake you a vanilla penis pie.
Medical care isn't the only field that's arguably a necessity though. Like, would it also be legal for electrical power companies to refuse to serve households based on race or sexuality or something?
>>
>>5914751
You seem irrationally paranoid that the US is filled with people who hate gays at every corner, if that were true, gay marriage wouldn't be legal.
Plus, again, what large business would risk the backlash of cutting off blacks, gays, or whoever? It's just bad business.

The only ones who you would see actually use their right to refuse service would be small time shit, like bubba jim's cake shop as I mentioned.

By pure circumstance, even if a bigger company were to deny service, say Comcast, there would be alternatives.
(Comcast would actually be broken up in a libertarian setting, as they effectively hold a monopoly in a large portion of the US, especially the Mid-West).

I live in North Carolina, and I practice law here.
I figured out how to btfo out of this bill and challenge it constitutionally

>Need new employees in my workplace
>In charge of hiring since solo/small firm practice area
>Just put out job listing saying that I am specifically seeking LGBT individuals, and straight people need not apply

What they don't realize is the Bill says, on its face, that sexual orientation is not under the protected categories. I can refuse to hire or to serve you if you are a straight person.

I highly recommend that every LGBT person I know with the ability to put out job listings or hire individuals do something similar.

Watch Pat McCrory and the rest of the NC legislature realize how badly they fucked up.

>>5916124
Okay, what is this "blatant lie"?
>>
>>5916158
Not a whole lot.
The ones that bothered me were the people against the ordinance who quoted the Bible and used arguments of morality.

Like I will accept you get people who are scared and will resort to "but what about the safety of the children?"

But the Bible shenanigans was pretty asinine.

Otherwise, it was about 140 testimonies, from both sides, on why we should or shouldn't have gender neutral bathrooms. There were some radical opinions on both sides.

All in all, the fact that the ordinance wouldn't have gone into effect until April 1st meant businesses had plenty of time, month and a half from the hearing, to work on their policies and shit.

The fact that Pat McCrory, after catching wind of the meeting, vowed retaliation when the legislature got back into session shows how god awful he is.

As soon as his term is up, I'm getting together all my kink and LGBT friends, gonna try and get them registered to vote, and we are voting him out of office.

Local tensions near the embassy were reaching a climax, and when they failed to send some sort of reinforcements after repeated requests from the embassy, our ambassador was tortured publicly as a result of their inaction. In response, Hillary and Co fabricated a narrative putting youtube users to blame, but then the supreme court became involved and we finally knew about the administrations lies.

Anti gay Muslims kill you or throw you in jail, there are over 20 muslim countries where homosexuality is punishable by fines, jail, lashes or death, all of which combine. Well this can make sense from practical and legal reasons. If a municipality or county passes a law against discriminating against X, say against bringing pets into establishments, it may create a legal issue with firms established in other jurisdictions, or incorporated by the State, thereby causing lengthy and expensive legal battles.

I have yet to read the article, but I suspect it's something with an administrative purpose like what I just mentioned.

>Charlotte's public accommodations ordinance, ... adding sexual orientation and gender identity to the city’s antidiscrimination law.
>The ordinance does not affect employment, only public accommodations — and does include guarantees that transgender people can use the facilities that correspond with their gender identity.
>The ordinance applies to shops, restaurants, taxi and limousine services, and other businesses that serve the general public.
>Businesses refusing to serve same-sex weddings or LGBT Pride events, for instance, would be in violation of the ordinance.

I see where the state is coming from. Charlotte is using "public accommodations" as the newest derivation of restrictions on "public-facing facilities". Law truly is a slippery slope. If Charlotte wanted to do this for truly public accommodations within its jurisdiction, i.e. for all City of Charlotte offices and buildings, I don't think there would have been much of an issue on the state-level, except for implementation in schools, especially high schools (which contrary to trans' feelings, is a huge liability issue).

The further application to private industry does make the rest of N.C. an economic externality. How? Charlotte is the largest city, and thus responsible for a disproportionate amount of the state's GDP and tax revenue. Increased regulations, especially those nebulous in enforcement, and associated with lengthy, expensive, and PR-tanking lawsuits would naturally drive away some business activities to other states. The rest of the State may have a legitimate interest in this legislation then.
>>
>>5921377
As a matter of practicality, it would take a huge and expensive intervention and investigation into businesses as to their upholding of this law. As stated earlier, it's also a difficult legal issue for those firms based in other jurisdictions. Car service and limo lines, which can theoretically traverse the entire state, can only be enforced within city limits. What if the company says they will only take the client no further than the city limits? If a catering service is based in Raleigh, was contracted to rented out a venue in Charlotte (thereby operating in it temporarily), and its workers refused to serve food to a trans person, does said trans person have a legal claim? What if it was a purely private invitation-only event that had a sales component (say a Christian Book Convention)? What about publicly-facing events and conventions by private organizers? Can Charlotte force them to drop their discretion? What if the event was organized by Muslims, and barred Christian (non-head dress) women, and claimed religious exemption? Is Charlotte going to sue?

As a matter of philosophy, what right does Charlotte have to strip right to refuse service, or to force transactions to happen? How did it disentangle the management of closely held companies by religious families, from the operations of those companies, in such a way that doesn't offend the free exercise clause?
>>
>>5921420

>“Discrimination is wrong, period,”
No. Discrimination is not "wrong" per se. Firms organizations and individuals already posses a right to discriminate against a theoretically infinite amount of people for an infinite amount of qualities. Clothing, hygiene, smell, volume, manners, past actions, community reputation, and matching industry shoplifting descriptions.

What's even more problematic is in the clash of positive rights of private entities and positive obligations placed upon them, the positive obligations seem to be winning out more and more.

>“That North Carolina is making discrimination part of the law is shameful.

>Indeed, after Indiana last year passed and subsequently amended a so-called Religious Freedom Restoration Act that opponents decried as a “license to discriminate,” the state took an estimated $60 million financial hit, and untold damage to its reputation as nationwide outrage from business, political, celebrity, and academic communities was foisted on the state.
I need to look more into this. The last I've looked into Indiana it was doing relatively well for itself, and the flight of business may have to do with confounding variables i.e. the economic fundamental in Indiana and the midwest at large.

Yes, generally Republicans believe in the rights of smaller jurisdictions to do as they wish. However there are some important caveats you are missing.
>1.
There are already, now, existing restrictions on smaller jurisdictions. States are barred by the federal government from having minimum wage lower than 7.25. No state may enter treaties. Cities are typically typically barred from starting their own court system without state approval. There may be further restrictions on which governmental entity may contract with whom.

>2.
In terms of constitutional structure, the states are the unit of governance in the US. They chartered the Federal Government over them into existence, and they chartered the cities and counties under them into existence

>3.
"enacting their own laws" at times can lead to negative legal and economic externalities to the state at large.

Who can forget the liberal jurists promoting "virtual trials" where the accused doesn't have to face the accuser directly for fear of causing undue distress. Is she being coached behind the scenes? Can a courtroom extend so far beyond physical boundaries? Who cares!
>10th amendment
Hahahaha
>14th amendment
Lets extend it far beyond its original meaning through a series of politically motivated yet undemocratic reinterpretations!

I'm not too familiar with the proceedings in NC, but I suspect they also had the right to filibuster.

>Trump is the worst.
Compared to the snake, the war criminal, and the opportunist many beg to differ.

> I would rather have Bush back than sign in Trump.
Because destabilizing the middle east and ramping up overpriced deals with defense contractors was just grand.

>That man is borderline insane
He seems to be two steps ahead of the media and three steps ahead of all the other candidates.

>Why does anyone support this madman?
He's even more of a pacifist than Sanders.
He will get a foot in the door to repealing the Immigration Act of 1965.
The wall will send a message to Europe that it's okay to defend their borders.
Russia and the US can together finally deal with the golems they propped up in years prior in the form of Shiite and Sunni extremism.
It will fuck up both the RNC and DNC establishments.
He doesn't seem beholden to anybody.

>who will put us in concentration camps

Remember that time we had a GOP white house, house, senate, plurality among the states and a conservative SCOTUS?

I don't seem to recall them shipping us in cattlecars.

Remember when we had a republican president from 1981-1993?
Funnily, no cattlecars come to mind.

Remember that time when homosexuality was still considered a mental illness? Sure, some people lost their jobs and were blackmailed, yet camps and cattle cars seem to be missing from that page of history.

Know what would blow people's minds? Trump/Sanders ticket. Trump can work on his wall and immigration reform and Sanders can work on making healthcare and college affordable and fucking audit the federal bank. It would make protesters detonate on the spot.

>but i dont think it covers the new trans items

That's just a right wing bullshit talking point. Look Lee Atwater, who said the GOP need to stop talking about segregation, but taxes and cutting government, which was code for whites that it would hurt blacks the most. It's the same with this "bathroom" bullshit. It's a public accommodations law. It simply means you cannot deny services to anyone who is LGBT. GOP went into a shit storm because WE DON'T LIKE QUEERS! Pass a repeal in a special session. The fact so many people keep calling it a "trans" bill just goes to show the right wing lies that flow though the internet.

LGBT folks = blacks in the 1960s
>>

No, not at all. LGBT folks won but will keep on whining until everyone hates them who once were their allies. Look at how they treated that poor bitch Kim Davis. If a gay or trans person had received a tenth of her monstering there would have been uproar.

Expect for the fact you can legally be fired for being gay in like half the country.

>Look at how they treated that poor bitch Kim Davis.

She was an awful bitch who broke the law and should have been removed from office.

FYI somebody is posting screen captures of various chan posts on other message boards and it appears he is trying to garner support for some fictitious organization known as the Forced Euthanasia Lobby. This post he is referencing was made in a /co/ SheZow thread.

People move too much these days to have un-uniform laws for such matters.

Crossing through multiple jurisdictions in a single day. All that could have different laws regarding your plumbing and which bathroom is legal.

Just get make all public toilets unisex.

>That "infringement" term changes with the times, man.
Well, "infringement" was never clearly defined. Arguably, ANY law on guns is infringement, but you could just as easily argue that as long as there is SOME arm that you can legally own (even if it's something utterly useless with a muzzle velocity of one inch per second), it's not being infringed.

Yes, and they would deserve it if they had attempted to obstruct federal law and deny people the right to get married.
