For reference sake, my parents saw me very very regularly during my early transition. They commented within 6 months that I looked extremely different. I had difficulty using my old ID after that point.

I got injured in a skiing accident when I was 14, and no one believed me that I was 14. At the hospital they accused me of having a fake medical card because I was over 6 foot and could pass for mid 20s. There was never any hope from a physical perspective.

As for stuff to read while practicing, standardized reading passages work well, there should be a few listed here http://webjedi.net/projects/lgbtq/speech-therapy/
I think some of these documents were actually used by my speech therapist.

If you've exhausted all your standard reading passages you could probably do stuff like read scripts or screenplays. I mean, voice practice will always feel awkward, but it's important to push past that. There's zero stakes.

As for knowing if you're doing it right, I usually just recorded myself saying stuff, and then played it back, adjusted my voice a little, and recorded again. Use a guitar tuner application or an actual guitar tuner to check your pitch if necessary.

I think what matters most is what you speak in day to day life. If you're seeing a voice therapist at some point they can probably hook you up with some swedish reading passages. Again, if you can find screenplays or scripts in swedish you might be able to use those for standard reading passages.

And yeah, voice training definitely gets easier as time goes on. The first few times suck because you're starting to use those vocal chords that have never been used before in your life. It takes a bit for your body to adapt. Practice in whatever language you use more often.
