Why thank you! But I'm not much different, I went through the edgy suicidal athiest phase too. I think the only difference is that I actually have it a second chance and it worked out well for me. Oh that's awesome, Proverbs were written by the wisest man to ever walk the face of the earth king Soloman! Reading it has some really gud stuff in there I'm glad you like it. This is the calendar I use. Its set up to read the entire bible in a year's time. I've already read like 80% of the whole thing. The only parts I'm missing is a bit of the Old Testament. But John is by far my favorite book. Its just so uplifting. Acts would be a close second.

My mom is doing that 1 year calendar challenge. My parents taught me to believe at a very young age and I have experienced some unexplainable events - I could not deny it even when my faith is very weak. Which it is since I don't go to church anymore. There are no good ones around me except for this old people church. I went for a month but I couldn't go anymore. Imagine your parents going to a college people church, I am sure they would feel out of place too.

I like John. I read it after Proverbs because it was right after it. I also like the book of Psalms. I could not get into Acts at all it was boring sorry to say. I found myself skimming and going through the motion of reading and not processing anything. My mom recommended me 1 Corinthians but it sort of fell off. I should read it. I think the chapters were too long and I got too impatient.

Just like you I was a naughty child. I have treated my parents horribly and I lashed out during my teenage years. Despite it all and despite everything I am, my parents still show their love and support. They are true Christians and I love them for that. They don't judge anyone because they know they are not perfect either. They know Christianity is more about love and acceptance than strictly following the bible word for word and condemning people.

I'd say get back into an accepting church when you can since its pretty important to maintaining a good faith stat and it keeps your mind and spirit proverbially "hydrated" so to speak. Ask around with some other young people, maybe they have a church they attended. But I def know that feel.

I recently came out as trans to my pastor during a counciling session and he didn't try to condemn me or get me to detrans or anything. It was gr8 so I'm gunna stick to this one for the foreseeable future.

Acts is really just the story about how the early church spread from Jerusalem to the rest of the world, but I like it since it tickles my intellectual history bone. It also helps that I have an expensive applications and study Bible that's translated to modern English and has I depth explanations before and after chapters to really paint an understandable picture for the reader.
