I should explain it is in the hills. There are no Mexicans living near by. The closest permanent resident is 2 miles away.
A close neighbor had some stuff stolen a couple years ago, and ones closer to town have had numerous issues.
It is very common to have foot traffic and bicyclists on the road out that far, mostly hikers though.
I'm not saying it is a daily threat, but information talks. Bad people get ear of a unguarded house in the hills, and go take a truck out and break in.
