Strange gun collecting kinks.
I like grabbing up guns chambered in odd rounds for the pattern.
For example a FEG GKK45 which is essentially a FN Hi-Power pattern handgun chambered in 45acp and an Ishapore 2a1 which is an Enfield pattern rifle in 308. Both work fine and were very cheap.
>>
>>35164018
Mechanically the GKK45 is essentially one of the old Smith and Wesson autoloaders. The PJK-9HP is the only true Hi-Power clone FEG made.

I plucked mine up for about $600-700. Forgot the exact number and I'm posting from work.

Shit's going up in price since BF1 was released, but I'll have to admit that even though I've been aware of these guns for a while thanks to Forgotten Weapons, I'm one of those fuckasses that really got into collecting them because of the game too

I got real lucky with the Meatball. Picked it off a real cool dude in Italy for $1500 but got fucked in import fees and shipping since this was right after the terror attacks in 2015

.35 Rem and .300 Savage are the only two I know that's still in standard production, but neither are made in plinking rounds. Hornady and Remington still make .35 Rem hunting loads, but those typically go for $1.50 or more a pop. Same for .300 Sav

Either way, whichever you choose, you lose

I feel bad for the folks that have em in .32, .30, and .25 Remington
>>
>>35164682
.32 Frommer I recall was nearly identical to .32ACP aside from a slightly hotter load, though it seems the stuff has no issue running the pistol.

>>35164694
High powered recoil automatics interest me, like short-recoil Magnums and the Browning/Remington seen there.
>>
>>35165321
Guess one's just gotta handload to enjoy those calibers to the fullest.
>>
I like collecting guns made in different countries. So far I have:
>USA x3
>Russia x4
>Czech Republic x2
>Brazil
>Turkey
>Korea
>Bulgaria
About to add Germany to the list when I get my USP 45.
>>
>>35165642
Another round nearly identical to the .32 ACP is the .35 S&W, which was basically .32 with a different kind of bullet
>>
>>35164668
That's so funky!
What's actually happening with the action there?
The upper receiver or slide seems integral with the barrel, and the bolt recoils after the barrel has already gone back and forth.

I've never seen anything like that.
>>
>>35164732
Why do asian people like guns like the CZ75, Beretta M9, Mk23, etc. Basically old guns, but they don't like more modern guns like Glocks.

The Mk23 is newer than the Glock.

Also the Glock is completely fucking unremarkable and boring.

Yeah, mine runs Fiocchi .32 ACP pretty reliably. Could be the spring is worn enough to take it, though

>>35165717
Been looking at those S&W 1913 pistols, but people bid on them pretty hard when I see em on auction

>>35165731
Dude, I'm afraid to even take it apart. It's got two mainsprings and I can't even make sense on what's going on internally. Pic fuggin related

Google search "Walther Automatic Shotgun" and there's a fantastic GunBoards thread with a wealth of information and pictures.

>>35165751
All of the other Asian people I know are more into newer guns like Glocks and Sigs.
>>
>>35165751
Maybe it has to do with Glocks being boring and not the person being asian.

I'd rather take any of those pistols you mentioned over a Glock just because I like the aesthetics and feel, and wouldn't be using it for any serious purpose anyway.
Even if it was for a real use, you can still do better than a Flock depending on your preference..
>>
>>35165751
I hate Glock and Glock clone triggers, mushy shit.

Meanwhile, a CZ75 and Beretta 92 not only feels properly hefty and fits my hand like a glove, but their triggers feel more definite to me.

Most of us are immigrants, so we are more "aware" and appreciative of the freedom that the 2nd Amendment gives people.

That's why we generally want to be "classier" and generally spend more on a gun. We want a "gun" gun, not more plastic utilitarian things like Glocks or Springfield XD XD XD's. Most fellow Asian gun owners that I know are collectors and range-going types; none of us care about tactical things or other practical matters. We just want metal full-sized pistols and revolvers.

I hope I made any sense. It's hard to explain.

>>35176910
Yeah, I guess I should have mentioned that.

Apart from being an all-stainless-steel (HEAVY) pocket sized subcompact DA/SA hammer fired 9mm which is unusual in itself, it has a few unique features. The recoil spring is captured on the barrel. It's an annular obturation delayed blowback; the chamber has an annular relief cut into which fired brass expands, slowing extraction long enough to be safe with 9mm. The hammer spring (black) and sear (stainless) are both simply pieces of spring steel. The trigger bar shoves the sear spring off the hammer to fire. Despite the extreme simplicity, the trigger is actually pretty good.

The slide appears to be machined from stainless billet while the frame appears to be milled from a stainless casting.

>It's an annular obturation delayed blowback; the chamber has an annular relief cut into which fired brass expands, slowing extraction long enough to be safe with 9mm
Aah, I have seen this principle before, and I've always been very skeptical towards it.

Most famously seen on the .30 Carbine Kimball pistol, where it's just one of many very poor design decisions. I've seen it other places too, where ruptured cases aren't unusual sights.. Does it exhibit this problem at all or did they actually make it safe and consistent? I would trust Detonics to be better at it.

I haven't shot it yet so I can't say what this one does, but I've not heard of ruptured cases from a Pocket 9. I have heard that cases are bulged, and may be unfit for reloading. I have also heard that recoil is unpleasant considering the pistol's weight.

The ring looks very rough and shallow, and it doesn't have a sharp lip, pic related.

Damn, what a shame. I'd like to know more about this shotgun too since the only information I can get about it is that GunBoards thread. Perhaps Ian had a deal with the owner of said weapons that fell through? I sent a message to him on BookFace and he said that he "had yet to get his hands on one that actually cycles." Mine cycles decently but it's having frequent issues extracting.

That one in the pic definitely looks to be in better shape than mine. Mine's beat up, rusty, and it's missing its buttplate, but at least it functions.
