If you do get a rail get one long enough to cover up your thicc barrel. I hate fat things. I think the Spikes would be cool to see as opposed to the MBUS pro fronts which are pretty common. Also consider Bobro, and or Griffin's front iron.

My shitty AR as it currently stands, a few things have already been changed such as the rubber rail covers and stickers gone. Strike Eagle, SSA-E, and Smith Enterprises Vortex flash hider on the way. Ordering an A2 stock kit, light, snickers sling, and nice optic mount next month. After that I'll go from there and see what works and what doesn't such as new BIUS and if I want to get any fancy IR shit.

Not a prebuilt upper but a scratch built one.
It is quite light but primarily by virtue of my rail and barrel choices. AR is for sale but I would sell just upper. 1.3k rounds through it, not a single malfunction.
SLR ION Lite rail 11"
Faxon 14.5" Gunner profile
Guntec Billet upper
Aimsurplus NiB BCG
PA MD ADS
MBUS PRO front
KAC 600M USMC rear

What's the absolute lightest pre-built AR-10?
>I'm taking the homosexual route because the last time I built an AR it weighed 7.6 pounds and was very unaesthetic
I want this to weigh roughly the same as my .223 AR, that is 7.6 give or take about .5. PREFERABLY TAKE.

I know DPMS is pretty shit but that G2 weighing only 7.25lbs sounds pretty nice. Anyone have experience with this gun?

The SR762 is probably the most I'd go in terms of weight, if I remember correctly it's around 8 pounds. That handguard is sleek though.

You should try to build in order to get the light build you desire and to contribute to the growing corpus of AR10 build knowledge thus enabling others to build in the future.

BA makes Hanson profile AR10 barrels, and SLR makes a bunch of lightweight AR10 rails in different DPMS configs.

>>35136226
Nice looks much better. Now take outdoor pictures with magazine in and better aspect ratio.
>>
>>35136251
Your still going to be using a large frame AR10 building a rifle up. This eats up a lot of weight

Heaviest single item is the barrel. Pick a good barrel profile and you can shave off half a pound. Light rail, buffer tube, and stock and you don't need to have a 12lb monster.

a number. Small frame uses AR15 handguards (generally), and a smaller bcg, other things. There is even less of a standard amongst the small frame AR10s than the regular AR-10s. Generally though, your going to see about a pound difference between the assorted improvements even with light profile barrels and basic plastic furniture between models.

Some of the small frame .308 ARs are getting close to seven pound rifles.

It just feels like play, until you feel the wall. Just relax on the wall until you're ready, then right when you apply pressure to the trigger it goes off. The reset is about the span of you beginning to let off. Like as in you relax and begin to ease off the trigger and right then it's reset.

I've owned this rifle for a bit more than a year and it has seen 6 000 so far.

Also I can go to Switzerland and buy ammo there, shoot it there without problem.

I can also buy ammo at shooting ranges or get into reloading.

Or really you know, just smurf buy ammo and keep going.

Or spend more money on shit that looks cool and will eventually prove to be very useful when the Gendarmerie or the Police will tell us "hurr durr, you're on your own"

Aero rails are awesome. Lightweight, monolithic look, full feeling in hand, suppressor compatible, they don't heat up like tight rails do.

Plus the mounting to the enhanced upper is super easy and secure.

They heat up further back due to the giant barrel nut, as such I've seen the upper receiver get especially toasty.

Is it possible to just buy a bunch of bullshit cheap firearms in the same caliber to buy 2k for each one or does the licensing process make that cost prohibitive?

I like Geissele and have been using them since the MK1 that I foolishly sold when I got my MK3. The only real downside to the MK8/4 is that you'll be accused of buying bullyproof parts, but that's kind of true for anything that you can add to cart.

Look is a matter of opinion and does not affect shooting.

And I have yet to see durability issues. Then again mine is on a sort of rifle/spr build so I'm not banging it around.

I'm not poo pooing geissele but to me aesthetics aren't worth 2-4 more oz of front end weight.

I suppose that's true. Girth is also not ideal for some (supposedly addressed with the mk13/14), nor is how the flats feel in an ungloved hand that basically beg for rail panels, but I'm just nitpicking at that point.

Honestly I've shaved more weight by choosing thinner barrel profiles than I ever have by swapping most other parts on my general use rifles.

Wew, what a well documented opinion.

I can have Noveske, BCM, ADCOR, KAC,Windham, Rainier Arms and countless other american made ARs and accessories.

As for the rest, you're just another brainwashed kid screaming "muh ruby ridge".

The fact that you buy troy over any of those brands (except maybe windham) is a good indicator that you are retarded.

Out of the 3 troy products i've ever owned all 3 have broken. Their PDW stock is a poorly made copy of the NEA that has too much play in the rods
>>
>>35138759

I'm a little asshurt that Eurofriends can buy the MR308 A3 with the G28 rail as a factory option and the US is stuck with the A1 and either a short quad rail or the reverse dickmod LRP2.
>>
>>35138787
Again shoulder muscles don't have much potential, they are small stabilizers. I lift more than 90% of people here (gym in 30 minutes after I finish pooing, I rep 315 bench... I'm a big guy. Which is why I like the fat rails.)

>>
>>35138811
Lol it didn't start that way. I moved it to dmr after I decided to do a new build with a different barrel. Hence the reason I'm satisfied with it ATM.

However the experience taught me the value of a light rail so putting a rail that is 2-4oz heavier on it for my light balance build just to meet aesthetics seems counterintuitive.

Shoulders v. pecs. All shoulders do during chest exercise is transfer load. Also supported by skeletal cause in line with arm bones.

When hold rifle it is later. Get a 10lb plate/dumbell and hold it out straight in front of you for 30 mins.

Try it and you'll cry too.
