So you're trying for a secret clearance. I'm just going to be straight with you, and you need to be straight with me. Did you lie at MEPS? Be honest. It's between you and me. Nothing we say to each other leaves these walls.
"(No)."

I got/have a secret clearance and nobody ever talked to me at all.
There's really nothing you can say that surprises them. I maybe had one real shocking admission or answer per year and all were very, very weird. It's best to be honest about your past, because we know anyway, and the information you divulge is shared with a very select group of people - most of whom don't care if you lied about smoking a joint when you first joined.
Lie about finances, medical history (especially mental), contacts with foreigners and travel abroad and you're out, though.

>Nothing we say to each other leaves these walls.
You figure that if they wanted you to tell the truth they wouldn't start off with a huge lie of their own.
"I'm only here because I couldn't join the army. Does that answer your question?"
>>35124440
Look. Your recruiter told you to lie. And now you're in. Well that's just it. You're in. You've been good, you've excelled, we aren't going to discharge you. We WANT you to have a good career. I want you to have a good career. Just be honest. I'll personally go to bat for you. But if you lie today, there's nothing I can do for you. It will be too late.

This is the shit im getting and im not even IN yet. I'm in delayed entry. It's ridiculous.

"I have nothing to disclose. I lost all my skeletons and mental disorders in a tragic boating accident."
>>35124444
how would they even find out about medical history?
>>35124486
So you did have mental disorders. Okay we're going to need you to sign this. I want to pull your records from age 10 and up. Don't worry, this isn't the end, I'll go over it with you and we'll work it out. See which ones we need to divulge and which ones we don't. Keep in mind that if you don't sign, your career stops. I'm on your side here.

>Hi, we're from the OPM and we want Mr Anon's medical history
>Okay Mr Fed
if you object to this you're not getting the clearance

b-bro
>>35124529
they won't care if you got kicked so hard in the nuts one time that you hit the ceiling and got knocked out and spent like 4 days in the hospital, they will care if you have mental issues or stuff that people can blackmail you with
>>35124443
Same, maybe hes thinking of top secret clearance?
>>35124542
What kind of mental issues. The misdiagnosed kind? Because thats all i had. But i was told by everyone including the recruiting officer in charge of the state to just say there was nothing, motherfucker came in, discharged two people for changing their stories at meps and told the entire poole that if anyone else changed their stories they would be discharged too.
>>35124554
He must be. Secret clearance is nothing, as you know. Just Opsec.
Or maybe you joined when I did, during the surge. Maybe less people joining so they actually have time for menial bullshit questioning.
I did get to hear some juicy stuff during training by a detective from a major US city. Stuff they don't release to the public.
