Brb gotta assassinate president Reagan.
Seriously though, i bought a Zephyr(Rohm) 22 short revolver for 90 dollars today.
How'd i do. It looks brand new and is still in time/ has good lockup

1. Wrong Rohm. Hinkley used an RG-14, not an RG-10.
2. 90 isn't horrible in today's market if it's in really nice condition and it's Zephyr branded.
3. Zephyr was an Arminius branding, which later was under the FIE umbrella, but the RG-10's were pre-68.
So not bad famfam

So thats how come it didn't asplode like a rohm?
>>35119792
I don't really understand, does that mean my revolver predates or postdates rohm, i know it was made in germany so it couldn't have been made past ban since i am in us.

Rohm not only imported these directly but sold them to other companies, which sold them under their own brand names. There are several dozen RG-10 branded guns out there. If you were a pre GCA importer (meaning you didn't need a special importer's license or anything), these were a cheap option to import and brand.

How are arminius revolvers?
>>35120470
Ah, that's what i thought.
Do you know anyway to date these models. Mine doesn't even have a model number. Just a german proofmark, caliber, serial, and make.
Nothing has been rubbed off. That's just it.
I have an rg14 I bought for 50 bones a while back, ragged it out and messed up the firing pin/hammer somehow, it's still in pieces on a shelf, really should take it to get checked out but no idea what it would cost
>>35120668
Honestly probably cheaper to buy new parts off of gunbroker. Even a new gun lol
>>35120668
It would cost more than its worth. And would likely blow up upon firing. Mine broke when I dropped it.

Depends. If it's a pre-ban Weihrauch from Germany, it's usually pretty decent. FIE Titan Tiger with the Arminius label? It's a big ass piece of ZAMAK. Not horrible but not great. Then again, Rohm even made .44 magnum revolvers at one point, so yea...

Mid 50's to 1968. I said Arminius but looking back at some of my research, Zephyr is actually a Stoeger brand.
On the gun there should be a proof mark and date code somewhere. Proof mark will tell you which proofing house, and then each house has their own date code system.

I'm slowly but surely working on a book about SNS pistols and the GCA and similar subjects. Maybe one day I'll get it done.
>>35120684
Exactly my thoughts, had a little attachment to it as my first gun I bought myself and first pistol I guess. Will probably buy a rough rider 22 someday and forget about it.

They're a pain in the ass to put back together. Can sell all of the parts for about $25-40 nowadays if you don't want to put it back together (just destroy the frame). Getting a hammer wouldn't be that expensive. Check eBay. I'm betting you could get one $20 or less. Unfortunately I don't have one at the moment in my SNS inventory or I'd cut you a deal.
Just repair it yourself though. Most dealers refuse to touch these things for a variety of reasons.

I meant you could buy a complete new rohme just for parts to fix yours.
Sentiment is worth something.
